I love this die holder but I did get the wrong size hex key wrench for it. The one I received was too big for the set screws. Aside from that, everything is in order and this works great! Great value!Obviously, being a tool person, I didn't have any of the correct size hex key wrenches in stock to use instead of the one I received. (Sarcasm. I have a dozen others. Ergo, this was just a very minor setback.)

This is a very useful tool for threading with dies on a lathe. Quality is about average for import stuff these days. I have used it a few times and everything works as it should and with some quality dies, it made perfect threads. It is way better than trying to square up a die handle on the tailstock chuck. The pin that keeps the assembly from spinning on the unit I recived was not made properly and falls through the hole rather than stopping at the knurls. If you have a lathe, it is pretty easy to make a proper pin, but you really shouldn't have to so I docked it 1 star.

I got this to thread some aluminum with a 1/4” npt pipe thread. This takes a lot of force and pressure. The aluminum’s a little sticky and it takes a lot initially to get the first threads started without just stripping out. It was too much for my mini lathe actually. I used these with a mt3 adapter in a larger lathe to do the job which went perfectly. They are plenty beefy for this despite having a smaller mt2 taper. I wish it came with one larger size instead of the smaller sizes. It’s nice that it comes with a punch to drive the pin out but it’s kind of laughable overkill. The punch is actually quite nice on its own. It’s more convenient to use a shorter piece of tool steel to tap the pin out in my opinion.

Overall I am satisfied with the unit and would recommend it. The one thing I don’t like is the anti-rotation pin. It is a press fit and has to be driven out to change the die holder. Probably not a big issue as for my dies it will be a rare event that I change die sizes/the die holder
