This press works well, although the handle/ratchet mechanism skews to one side when pressing. Tried to tighten the retaining ring but then it gets too tight and will not freely release the piston when turning the wheel. I'll play with it more to see if I can get a happy medium.

Aside from missing the shaft collar to hold the handle in place This is the nicest Arbor press I have used that was under $800. The ratcheting part is indispensable and Has left me wanting to buy another for my house.

Very poorly packaged, arrived in torn up box with parts falling out, surprised that most of it even showed up.Know this is a heavy piece but package it as such, UPS and FedEx will show no mercy while handling this.Work clearance was also not as advertised, only 10 plus inches under the anvil.

JunkSave your money and buy a real press.When I received it the box was busted open and the handle and instructions were missing. Then I cut myself on the sharp edges covering all of the castings that had to be removed before assembly.So far I've broken 2 Ratchet Wheels, there made from cast iron not steel far to week and brittle for the job.Not recommended.

I knew based on reviews the picure would be nicer than the received unit, but I still wanted it for the good reviews it had received on the ratcheting mechanism and its smoothnes. But the unit I received places the gravity operated ratchet lock to close to the mainframe, so that it is overlapping the fram with aproximately 3 mm, preventing the lock to fall down and engage the ratchet. This can be solved by grinding down the protruding area where the ratchet lock is mounted, or by putting a 3 mm thick spacer between the ratchet and the arm holder. I will try the latter first. The axle this spacer will slip over is 45 mm thick.

Feels very good quality works great definitely recommend buying this arrived in good condition with all the parts not sure what the other reviews were talking about must have bad luck great price couldn't be more happy
