This is actually my second HIAORS CDI on this machine. The first one lasted about 6 months and just died, hence the 4 star.Second one installed and cranked up immediately. Hard to find an aftermarket compatible CDI for the old HONDA. Glad this one worked on my 1987 125cc HONDA.

Tried this before I found a new AC CDI from rmstator. Unfortunately the experiment didnt work.

AC CDI and DC CDI are completely different. How you can tell them apart is the SIZE. DC boxes are always big. Much bigger than the AC boxes. So if you have a box thats large, its probably DC. If it is DC, the reason it failed in the first place is a bad battery. If you have to jump start the ATV, scooter, etc. everytime you start it, or you kick start the vehicle and have all the lights running at the same time with dead battery, the box wont last long. You have to have a good battery present with DC boxes. AC boxes aren't fully exempt from this issue. Run to many accessories and the AC box will meet same fate without a battery.
