I was unable to find any replacement gun springs for a particular gun that was 50+ years old and long discontinued, so I measured the wire and found that this wire was just barely thicker than the existing spring. This wire was easy to work with and within an hour I had multiple replacement torsion springs ready to go. Functional tests show that the replacement springs are better than the originals, and I saved a lot of money over the cost of the antique replacements even if I had been able to find them. There is plenty on the roll for have a supply for another other springs that I need to make around the house. I plan to buy spools of other diameters to make some other replacement springs now, also.
