The instructions aren't exactly clear but, it only took a few glances at the manual to change the reading from meters to feet per second. I have only tried short darts so far and the readings are consistent. I would imagine this would work for anything except mega-xl. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the cheapest option available to measure fps for NERF.

Small and light weight. Great value if all you need is the basic function to test the speed of the pellet for an air gun and tune it for accuracy. Instruction is poorly translated from Chinese and need some efforts to figure it out. However, it is easy to use once you get it figured out. It uses light sensors other than electromagnetic field to detect the pellet, so that the pellets have to pass over the diodes. You must clamp the device at the end of the barrel to line up the bullet path with the diodes. You cannot simply shoot into the opening in the magnetic field like the conventional chronograph. It would not give you a consistent reading, and yes, you may shoot off the diodes like some people commented. ;)

The instructions are so ridiculously haphazardly thrown together that it makes no sense it says it measures joules.. really explain how. This is an example of the instructions word for word. Okay it says short press press the button and release it within one second the indicator flashes green light prompt for once.. once for what it doesn't say at all what the ones is significant of and then it goes on and says the same thing medium press press the button and release it within 2 seconds the indicator flashes green light prompt for twice. Again I will say twice what. Then it says long press the button and release it within 3 seconds and and the indicator flashes green light prompt for three times. Again I will say three times what three times what. Now here's some more convoluted obfuscation. Then it says when LED lights are red the digital display that is it means joules... now here's the joke of it it only has one color it is only red all the time here I can take a picture of the instructions so you can see it yourself try to make sense of this. Then it says if you press the button for one second when it's off it will go on. This is just so stupid don't waste your money I'm sending it back.

I am getting mixed results with this chronograph. I like it for its size and weight. Instructions were in Engrish, yes Engrish meaning, they are using English words, but strange syntax which makes it hard to understand. But got it figured out after playing around. The accuracy is questionable. I do not have another chronograph to verify. I am using an Umarex TR50 7.5j CO2 gun. It could very well be the gun but I don't know.UPDATE - I shot out the second LED. LOL Maybe I will buy a better chronograph this time, or maybe not one at all.First test results:1 336.2 fps/6.3j2 185.5/1.93 416.0/9.64 201.9/2.25 335.1/6.26 338.8/6.3Second test:1 205.7/2.32 375.2/7.83 238.8/3.14 210.1/2.45 -/- (fired before chronograph was ready)6 293.1/4.7Each test had a new CO2 canister inserted. There could be issues between shorts or the temperature was not consistent. Various reasons abound. Again, it could be the gun. I will do more testing before my return date is up.

This chrono is not very durable. I used it about a month before it stopped working.

I have used this with all my hand guns, rifles and pellet guns it has performed very well. Consistent readings and easy to use. Would certainly purchase again. Only time will tell how long it lasts. Will update review if durability becomes an issue.
