Instructions did not identify the self-diagnosis startup period, you may think the product is defective, but its not wait about 5 minutes and it will begin operating properly.

Just a lil over 2 weeks & it’s faulty. At 1st it went off & blinking red. I can’t smell, so I called fire dept. They checked & all was good. Gas Co. guy came too, & all was good. Now gas detector is blinking red & yellow & that means fault with the detector itself.

After hearing about some recent gas explosion accidents in local news, I decided to purchase this gas detector, hoping for a reliable solution for my kitchen. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing, especially regarding sensitivity and setup.To start, the instructions were minimal and unclear, leaving me guessing about how to determine if the product was working at all. I’m no stranger to installing detectors, but this one required quite a bit of trial and error. For anyone unfamiliar with such devices, the lack of guidance could be really frustrating.When I plugged in the first unit, the lights kept flashing endlessly, which didn’t seem right. Assuming it was defective, I returned it for a replacement. The second one behaved similarly at first, but after a while, the flashing finally stopped, so I assumed it was operational. However, even once it settled, it didn’t feel fully reliable.I tested it by letting a small amount of gas (from a burner) seep out right next to the detector, but it took far too long to respond. Compared to another gas detector I own, which responds almost immediately, this one was significantly slower. My main concern is its insensitivity to LP gas, which is essential for kitchen safety.While this detector might be more suitable for natural gas, as the advertising claims, it’s not as reliable for LP gas detection. For anyone primarily concerned with LP gas, this may not be the best option.
