Our kitty kept getting UTIs with other food, even urinary care food. We've been using this for a few months and she's good. Our other cats eat it too. it doesn't seem to work for hairballs as 2 of them still get hairballs pretty often. The small pieces could be a bit smaller, but they are still edible for them.

Our cats love it and so we continuously order this. They cats are healthy and love eating it so it works well for us. The size is big as described and it has the regular cat food smell. I cannot comment on the taste - but the cats keep going for it each time we feed them so it must be good :)

I put my male cats on this food after my female cats died in 2018 from a bladder stone and the vet said the food caused it...They have no urinary issues, my vet said it's good as a precautionary and it will help keep them healthy... as for the hairball side of things, my oldest cat is almost 6 and my youngest will be 3 in October of 2025 and they have had no hairballs, don't get me wrong, they will puke up bile with some hair in it like most normal cats will but I have not seen a whole hairball at all...

I would rather pay extra for food and keep them healthy and happy than have them,my bank account and my carpet suffer with multiple vets visits for crystals in their urinary tract and what not . They seem to like it well enough though they still go crazy when i occasionally let them have a can of their old food. ( cheap, not good for them) I imagine it’s equal to us treating ourselves to a bag of chips here and there. This food, is more like the healthy salad . I only take one star off cause it’s so very expensive.

Long story short, my cats gets so stressed from traveling that she gives herself UTIs (WTF nature?). I bought this for her to mitigate that, along with an oral urinary heath supplement. She LOVES this food. I used to leave dry food out for her 24/7, but I can't do that with this food because she'll eat the whole thing at once. Her urinary issues did clear up, but it's hard to tell if it was because of this food or just good ole time. Here are my tips if your cat is having urinary issues:1. If it's a one-off incident, investigate why it happened! If it's stress-related, which is common, address that first. When traveling, cover the carrier with a blanket to avoid sensory overload.Try spraying the carrier with a pheromone spray like Feliway, which allegedly calms cats. You can even try a pheromone scent plug-in if you want. When kitty is in a new place, isolate them in a room where they can unwind without being disturbed. Google has plenty of resources for how to reduce stress in cats!2. WATER WATER WATER! Entice you cat to drink water. Cats dislike water sources near their food, so try placing another water bowl away from the feeding area. (This is a natural instinct, as water sources near food / meat in the wild are often contaminated). Give fresh water every day. Try a water fountain. (Again, instinct - in the wild, running water is less likely to be contaminated than stagnant water).3. Wet food! This kibble is okay, but cats with UTIs NEED wet food! They often don't drink enough water on their own, so incorporating it in their wet food is the best solution. And use a quality wet food - with the nutrients they need, avoiding ash and fillers. Fun fact, CATS DONT NEED ANY CARBS OR VEGGIES! Their food should be all protein and fat - any diced carrots and peas are to make YOU feel better, not the cat.Experiment with adding extra water to the wet food! (Some cats like it, some do not). Maximize your cat's water intake as much as possible. But I wouldn't suggest adding water to dry food. It gets pretty gross, like soggy cereal.4. Consider an oral supplement. I tried a liquid supplement available on Amazon. My cat avoided her food when I added the liquid, so I administered it directly. To 'force feed' a cat, you just quickly pop the supplement in the throat (not the mouth, where they can spit it out). I prop my kitty's mouth open with one hand and administered the liquid with the other (but I have a very patient, tolerant cat).5. Keep that litter CLEAN! It's likely your frustrated cat will be peeing often, and possibly peeing outside the litter box. Mitigate this by keeping the litter pristine and possibly adding another little box. There's also a product called "Cat Attract" that allegedly attracts cats to their litter, though I've never used it personally.6. Finally, track their potty behaviors as much as possible. If urinary issues persist, especially in male cats where they can get total urethral blockages and actually die, go to the vet. Have a log of all the times your cat visited the litter box the day before. Note how much they pee, if it's discolored, etc.To anyone who ended up on this page because their cat is having pee-pee problems, good luck! Just stick with it.

(TLDR: Expensive? Yes. Worth it? YES.) One of my boys blocked. Apparently it’s super common in neutered males and NOBODY TOLD ME, so I’m telling you, and you should tell EVERYBODY. It’s terrifying. And expensive. When he got out of the pet hospital, the vet told me he would need to be on food formulated for urinary care for the rest of his life.I did a google deep dive (there were spreadsheets, it was a tense week) and yeah, food formulated for urinary care is different than food that isn’t. Not sure why it’s not all formulated for urinary support if blockages are so common, but I digress. I really like Hills. It’s not the ONLY option; there are other vet recommended brands that have trials and data backing up their food, but Hills consistently scores high with vets, pets, and pet owners. It doesn’t guarantee that your cat won’t block, or won’t block again. But my cats have been more energetic, their coats are softer, they shed less, they have virtually ZERO hair balls, they barely fart, and they LOVE the taste. I tried a couple other brands before I settled on Hills, and one girl would just sit there looking pissed and meowing at me when I tried to feed her Purina. I get it, it’s a lot more expensive than what I (and probably you) were using before, but it really ACTUALLY makes a difference. For me, it’s worth $80/bag to not have to go through finding my guy twitching on the floor, racing him to the vet 3 separate times, and then finally to the pet hospital at 10:00pm. That preceded a sleepless night and a week of tricking him into taking his meds. He hasn’t had a problem since and its been almost 2 years (knock on wood). It’s more than worth it to me.

All of my previous cats consistently had bladder or hairball issues. I've since switched all of my cats onto this food and have not experienced any health issues at all in any of my older or newer cats. This is a great product if you want to keep your cats healthy and free of choking on their own fur or other dust around the house!

Much healthier than their previous kibble. Gives them a well balanced diet and they like the flavour.

Science hills is a great brand and the sensitive stomach food really has made a difference for my cat. He is super sensitive with food and science hills is one of the few brands that work for him without going to a prescription. He has a super nice coat with little dandruff and shedding because of this diet. They are also a really great company that donates tons of food the shelters.Amazon has the best base price for this food.
