I love these little bolts. I have used them to dress up a TV stand and a side table I made, and they give the furniture a nice rustic/industrial look. These are very beefy. You can use them to transform an otherwise inexpensive piece of furniture into looking like a much more expensive piece. For instance, we added a solid wood top to an IKEA Expedit bookshelf (laid on its side) and used the bolts to attach the wood to the shelf. Awesome results and now it looks like a piece from a much more expensive furniture store.

Really nice bolt that has a strong flat head and good black finish.

Obviously, Hillman makes a ton of money, by purchasing fasteners in bulk and reselling them in packages of four. As I understand it, these elevator bolts are intended to hold boards to the interior of grain elevators - not conventional elevators. The flat ends fit flush to the bin's lining so as to not impede the flow of grain as it drop to the bottom of the bin. I don't have a grain elevator, but I can't imagine how much it would cost build one, if I had to buy them 4-at-a-time from Hillman.

Threads had burrs on them, had to chase them with a lubricated nut, then they were good.
