The staples are heavy duty, and this they will get the job done. 9 gage so they are as thick as a framing nail.

We didn’t use these, as my husband and I have trouble even nailing things. They are good staples, if used by someone who knows how to put them in. They seem small and sturdy enough to hold hardware cloth down, which is why I bought them. I do not know what “sheerness†means.

Bought these to attach some 5/16" diameter horse electric fencing to wooden poles. Although these would have been great for some smaller diameter wire (1/16" to 1/8" diameter), my wire had a plastic insulator and was 5/16" diameter. These are not really long enough for that. My bad.I then located some 1-3/4" staples that were better suited, and had barbs on them as well. They were more appropriate.Nothing wrong with these. Got a lot of them in a 5 lb. box.
