These clamps are built well and work great. I got them mostly for woodworking and they are great for that. They work fast and hold up well. I have seen some people say they would not be rated well for welding though. I am not using them for that purpose so I can't really speak much to that, but for wood they have been great. They would also work for some random around the house stuff like holding long boards in place while you cut or try to set them in place. Happy with them for my needs.

I do a lot of projects and fabrication at home and always use a variety of clamps. I have never had any F-style clamps, so when I saw these on Amazon, I thought they looked good and would give them a try. These clamps come as a set of 4 and currently sell for about $47 on Amazon, or less than $12 each. I thought this price was a little high but when I did some online research, I discovered that these, while not a bargain, are a good value. The capacity of these clamps is as follows: maximum opening of 300mm (a little less than 12 inches) and a throat depth of 80mm (about 3 1/8 inches). Maximum clamping force is 600 lbs.The jaws are cushioned with rubber/nylon like pads, which are nice when clamping wood pieces because these pads will help to prevent marring the wood surfaces. However, the packaging description indicates that the clamps can also be used in metalworking and welding. This type of work would not be appropriate for the pads that are on the jaws. So, I tried to see if I could remove the pads without damaging them. I was able to pry the pads off with a small screwdriver. I have included a picture of the clamps with the pads removed with this review. I was able to snap the pads back on without any problem.I used two of these clamps to secure a small wood butcher block table top to my Workmate. The clamps held the workpiece securely while I plugged some holes with dowels and sanded the surfaces. The F clamps worked well for me, and I have added them to my clamp collection and expect to use them often.

Full disclosure, I received this item as part of Amazon's Vine Program in exchange for an honest review, good or bad. I use to use clamps like this when I worked for a metal sculptor. Now that I am getting into welding again, I got these thinking they would be like the ones I was used to, though I wondered why they were only rated for 600 lbs. It turns out they are very small compared to what I am used to. They are still good clamps, just on the anemic side. They have the same rating as my woodworking F-clamps. The only advantage these have is you can remove the plastic parts so they don't catch on fire when welding. If you are buying clamps to bend metal, look at the heavy duty ones that are 1200 or 1800 lbs rated, not these. These are just for holding the metal together while you tack it. They work fine for that.

Note that there are several variations in the listing. I’m reviewing the variation with the 600 pound weight limit. This is a good value for a set of four larger sized metal clamps that have a high weight capacity of 600 pounds (in this variation). Each one in the set is the same size and weight capacity so they work well together. With four clamps total in the set, you have two matching sets (4 total clamps). They’re a longer size at 12 inches in length. They’re metal with forged carbon steel and nickel plated chrome construction. While they are very sturdy and well made, they are relatively lightweight and easy to lift, handle and pick up. This makes them easier to use than some that are overly heavy for the size. They’re fairly standard on the adjustment mechanism for clamps, and it’s a twist open and close style. They have a quick release style endstop that’s removable. You can do this to use them as a spreader vs clamp. The pressure plate on the clamp has a steel insert and can be tilted up to 35 degrees in angle. They do have a 600 pound working load limit or clamp force (in this variation), so be sure they will be able to handle the weight and use you plan to use them with. You may also want to refer to the listing pictures that show the size and jaw opening in more detail to be sure they will be the right size for your use.

I have a lot of clamps in my garage, where I normally do woodworking projects. I had never tried these types of clamps before, so I was hesitant to order them. When I received and used these clamps, I knew I'd made the right decision by ordering them. The set that I received includes four 12 inch clamps. The listing indicates that each of these clamps provides 600 lbs of clamping force. I don't have the means to test and confirm this, but I have no doubt that these clamps can provide the indicated clamping force. The clamps appear to be quite nicely crafted of high-quality steel, and they are expected to last a long time. For $44.99 at the time of writing this review, I believe this set is reasonably priced.

This is the first time I've had a chance to actually use these. Very nice, stiff and solid feeling. Doesn't twist or bend. Exactly what I needed, thanks!

These clamps were lacking quick release lever, which is what I'm more familiar with these types of clamps and long pipe clamps. The clamp will freely slide up and down on the shaft when it is free, however, when put into position and tightened, the angle somehow holds it and retains it well. It was a little awkward at first, and lends a little bit of worry that the clamp arm will slide out of place, but it seems to function just as well as a clamp that locks itself into place with a quick release lever.
