Was time for a new air filter. Found this one that had all parts I would need. Went pretty well. Weed eater started right up. I change the spark plug every two years, so will use it next year. No issue with installed carb so bagged the extra parts for a later day. I use good gas and put in a couple spoons of injector cleaner per gallon so weed eater all ways starts up.

This replacement carb kit worked perfectly. My Echo 225 trimmer started right up and ran like a champ. Everything fit and quality was excellent.

This is a quality package. The items appear to be of OEM quality, and it is easy to install. If you have problems, there are YouTube videos available for similar product installation. After I installed the new components, my trimmer fired right up and ran great. I realized that I had not installed the new spark plug, so I did. The next day when I started the trimmer, it would not keep running. It engine would fire randomly and then quickly die. I was baffled because the evening before it ran just fine. I retrieved my old spark plug and reinstalled it into the engine, and the trimmer ran perfectly again! Just to verify the problem, I swapped the plugs again and the same problem resulted.If you install this kit and your trimmer engine will not run normally, or the engine dies after firing a few times, use your old spark plug or buy a quality OEM plug. Also, I found the main jet located just below the primer bulb is pretty much set correctly. It is a jet and not really not a needle valve, but it can be adjusted slightly with a properly fitting screw driver. I found this adjustment is correct as it is set from the manufacturer where it is seated all the way in. This "jet" can be backed out very slightly to richen the high speed mixture. There is low speed adjustment down inside of the hole in the throttle body retaining nut. A small screwdriver can be inserted down inside of the center of the chrome nut and adjusted slightly for smooth transition from idle to full throttle. I found a great setting by adjusting for maximum RPM and then about 1/4 turn counter clockwise to richen slightly. Be sure the engine has reached normal operating temperature before performing any adjustments.Overall, this kit is a fantastic bargain. I knocked off one star because of the generic spark plug problem. I would highly recommend this product.

Virtually identical to the original Zama (Japanese) carb that came stock but obviously made in China. This carb will need adjustment to work properly, but it works just fine and the ability to adjust actually works to my advantage since I live in a high altitude area and needed to lean it out a bit. If you can't tune by ear (I've been a mechanic on small and large engines for better than 40 years), this may not be for you. I kept the old carb for parts just in case, did use the new air filter even though mine wasn't really bad and didn't bother with the spark plug. I clean my own or buy fresh Autolites.... Although my fuel lines were fine, I opted to use the ones in the kit and just a Pro-Tip here.... Remove the fuel tank and work in the stopper with a dull flat blade screw driver. Yes it's tight, it's supposed to be to prevent fuel leaks. As far as longevity, I can't say, but the original got me 10 years (2013 model) so that remains to be seen but i've always run it dry and/or used Stabil to make sure the regular E10 fuel crap we have to get at the pump does minimal damage in storage.

I was prepared to write a negative review after my first attempt a installation. The original carb was not idling properly and I tried a quick cleanout with no success. These carbs are not adjustable and a rebuild was not worth the time given the low price of replacements.Well, in my first attempt, I reused the original carb-to-motor gasket as the supplied replacement did not seem to match. The trimmer started immediately but I could not get the full RPMs out of the machine. So, retry with supplied gasket and now all works properly!I di use the supplied spark plug, although I an bit familiar with the manufacturer. Also used the supply fuel hoses even though the originals appeared functional.All in all, a great kit and a very reasonable price.
