UPDATED REVIEW AFTER REPLACEMENT - The replacement D-ring adapter was the correct 3/8" & will work well for my needs. I had to drill out the extra quick-mount plate on my economy tripod to accommodate the larger adapter. Also note these are listed as 3/8" x 16mm. 16 mm is the total length of the adapter. The useable thread depth is 10mm. Regardless they will get the job done.ORIGINAL REVIEW - These may be a fine product, but the seller packed & shipped 1/4" x 16 adapters in packaging clearly labeled as 3/8" x 16. Now I have to return them, delaying my project.

I bought these to fully take advantage of the deep holes in a spotting scope and prevent it from falling off a tripod when my wife carries it long distances over her shoulder. The original tripod screw would work loose and almost detach before she noticed it. These are high quality and are exactly as described and pictured. Note that the non-threaded part is 5.5mm in length which matches many other screws but this dimension wasn't included in the dimensioned drawing. The screws are mildly attracted to magnets the way some stainless steels are so I think they are actually stainless.

The D-ring on one of the screws is so stiff that I can't move it, but the other one is fine. The most important thing is they fit the tripod mount on my camera, and I only needed one anyway, so I'm not too bothered by the fact that I can only use one of the two screws that came in the pack.
