One of the most iconic cameras available, the Holga 120N is characterized by the unique image quality it is able to produce, along with its modest design and minimal controls. Featured here with a white finish, the Holga is best known for its standard-length 60mm f/8 plastic lens that produces a soft, dream-like aesthetic, which is further accentuated by the inherent vignetting and light leaks caused by the plastic body and simple construction. A choice between f/8 or f/11, or "cloudy" and "sunny", aperture settings is available, along with 1/100 sec. or bulb shutter speed settings and a zone focus system for focusing as close as 3' away. A tripod mount is incorporated into the base of the camera for stable long exposure shooting and a top hot shoe accepts optional electronic flashes. A camera designed to bring the fun back to photography, the Holga is a classic camera capable of making some remarkable, yet inherently lo-fi photographs.
The 120N model accepts 120-format roll film and includes both 6 x 4.5cm and 6 x 6cm inserts to record 16 or 12 exposures per roll, respectively. Film is manually advanced between shots using the top winding knob, with the frame progression checked using the rear red window.
Plastic body construction and plastic lens contribute to the distinct image quality, which is characterized by light leaks, vignetting, and soft focus.
Classic medium format camera accepts 120 roll film, and the included 6 x 4.5cm and 6 x 6cm film masks allow you to record either 16 or 12 frames per roll respectively.
60mm f/8 lens provides a normal field of view for working in a wide variety of situations.
Zone focusing system allows you to focus as closely as 3' away.
A 1/100th sec. shutter speed setting is available in addition to a bulb setting for long exposure shooting.
Standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount allows you to make stable long exposure photographs.
Top hot shoe accessory mount allows you to attach

Seriously, you're not considering this camera because you want ultrasharp grainless photos, which this camera couldn't produce if your life depended on it. You're considering this camera because you want photos with mood and personality. And while the camera you would get won't produce photos exactly like mine, it will give you amazing results if you know its strengths and weaknesses. Some folks love the light leaks you might get, I don't. So I immediately covered all cracks with thin strips of gaffer tape. Easy. Since there are only 4 focus distances, I know what they are and get pretty good at estimating distance. Remember to advance your film immediately after taking a photo (unless you want that double exposure). Keep the center of focus close to the center of the picture and you will get those photos that this camera excels at making. Happy Shooting!!

Be aware that they are no longer installing the necessary components to allow AA batteries to operate the built in flash. That said, it does have an external flash shoe. It's $40 dollars and the film roll is $10 of that. If you get a few fun experiences out of it before it breaks, isn't that worth it?For the price, it's five stars from me.

It’s a fun little plastic camera! For how cheap it is, you can get some cool shots with it

Box came in crushed; but, camera was ok. Did not get the film or lens cloth that came in bundle. Didn't bother with return process as I ordered extra film.

With great anticipation, my new Holga 120N arrived this afternoon. I have in the past owned and used Holga camera’s, as well as Diana and Kiev camera’s as well. I am familiar with the build quality of these types of cameras. However, attempting to insert the 645 mask (my preferred format) is impossible. It simply does not fit the camera. Additionally, the shutter also appears to be not working properly. The ‘N’ setting holds the shutter open exactly as the ‘B’ setting does. The ‘B” setting is supposed to keep the shutter open, whilst the “N’ setting is for the factory set shutter speed. Unfortunately, this was a definite as waste of money.

This is a great, fun, imperfect, low expectations camera. I read a bunch about it before purchasing and knew what I was getting into, and it is exactly that. But that is the point. I have learned to embrace the imperfections since getting involved with film photography and this is the epitome of that, and I love it for it.As far as usage of this camera just a few simple tweaks and "mods" can greatly improve the experience and negate some of the negative aspects of this simple machine.

Don’t get me wrong, I knew I wasn’t paying for an expensive or vintage film camera, so I didn’t expect for it to be the best quality. But it felt like a toy camera. The instructions didn’t match the camera that came to me. On the camera itself, there wasn’t any spots for the batteries to go, which powers the flash. It also didn’t come with a cloth or rolls of film like it said it would. The instructions were not helpful, definitely wouldn’t recommend for a beginner friendly film camera. Better off with a Kodak.

first of all, there’s no batteries because this is a manual camera. you don’t need batteries for it. that is why there is no battery compartment or batteries included……. please read the description and make sure you know what you are buying before you purchase.now that the ignorant people are gone, let me tell you about this camera. it is easy to use. it is a very lightweight and durable toy camera which is great for trips when you don’t want to bring any other medium format bricks from the 50’s with you, but still want to shoot medium format film. if you’re concerned about light leaks and don’t want them, just use electrical tape to tape up openings and cover the film counter.this is a great camera for the price. I love that it makes shooting with medium format film more accessible. a small child could easily use this camera. if you know how to use it, the thing won’t break. I can say that after traveling with it quite carelessly. if you break it, it is highly likely a user error, and has nothing to do with the durability of the camera itself because it is made out of durable plastic.if you have trouble with the camera just type the name on youtube. there are loads of videos that will help you sort it out. don’t be too proud to look for help instead of breaking a brand new buy! I like the film it comes with because black and white film is much more forgiving for those who are inexperienced. but if you want to try some colour film, I would recommend Kodak Gold 200 which is suitable for day to day use. this isn’t like a digital camera so take your time learning if you’re new. have fun shooting, it’s not rocket science!

Yes the vignetting is terrible, yes only the middle 3rd is in focus, yes it needs the seams taped to stop light leaks but I still love it.Just fun to use, dead simple, gives a spooky finish to everyday scenes, very forgiving with decent speed film.A (relatively) cheap way to get into MF photography. Just make sure you use 400iso film (the Ilford HP5 that comes with it is good) and have low expectations on quality.

I've ordered this camera twice now - I thought maybe there was an error the first time, as there was so battery terminal. Returned, ordered again, and I just received it. Again, no battery compartment. Such a bummer!
