If you have an engine that is making less than 500HP, and you prefer a mechanical pump, then this will work well for you. I recommend at least a 3/8" fuel line from the tank to the pump for best efficiency.

I had a Carter for 51 years and thought to try Holley's pump.....I have a 440 BB in a speed boat and have put on pumps before, Ya the rod was up on the pump arm...….Bolted up just fine....On a 440 you can't even start the bolt's (stock ones) without having the pump flush with the block...Went to push the rubber fuel line on and the pump....It fell in half in my hand...Ya, broke in half.....The castings are paper thin and of poor metal....Got a new Carter Made in U.S.A. $32.00 cheaper…...
