Needs a Kosher scroll...most scrolls included with mezuzah covers are photocopies. Mezuzot are not talizmen nor good luck charms, they are fulfilling a commandment to place "these words" of the Shema (a prayer taken from Deuteronomy) as a sign and to "inscribe them on the door-posts of your house and on your gates". While the cases can be made beautiful, the important part is the scroll they are protecting.In using a handwritten scroll, you are also providing earnings to the scribes who generally spend a great deal of their time learning Torah.According to current psychology, the mundane act of walking through a doorframe can cause us to change our frame of reference, e.g. the relief we feel when entering our home or the forgetful feeling when opening the refrigerator and not knowing why we opened it. Seeing and touching a mezuzah changes the mundane act into one of deliberate mindfulness of remembering "these words" inscribed herein.

This is perfect for my needs. The stopper was a little difficult to remove, but I'm confident it will keep moisture away from the scroll in this humid Florida weather.
