I have a 2016 Honda Accord and was trying to add led strips and small spark happened. The alarm would not set and the dash kept showing the trunk was open. Part was as described as listed. Removed 2 bolts and the cable and this solved my issue. Removal and assembly took 5 minutes

Worked perfectly, I got my trunk lights back up and running. I tried cutting corners and not disconnect the negative terminal on the battery when splicing wires, ended up blowing the interior fuse (7.5A) as well as the switch that's inside this latch. The dash wasn't indicating the trunk was open either. Installation is quick, 2 10mm bolts, and your good to do!

So let me go back to when the original got fried out.I had bought these new cool LED lights and wanted to replace them with the stock ones in my car. I didn’t know at the time that you were supposed to take off the battery or take out the light fuse so they won’t short circuit it. I did all the inside light just like that, and everything was fine. Then I went to the trunk and switched them. Thought everything was fine for the moment. Then when I was about to leave and put everything away I locked my car and turned on the alarm. (Pressing the lock button twice and hearing a beep). I noticed that it didn’t give out the beeping sound it always does. So I double checked, looked it up on the web. They said something about looking in your trunk through the back seat to see if the lights still on, and if they were. Your locking mechanism was damaged. Turns out, going to go get it replaced is about 100-200 bucks. So I disconnected it for a good while. Had to open the trunk old school, the inside release latch. Looked some up online and they were like 90 something. Then I found this one. Arrived earlier than expected. Everything is in working order. And I saved a lot of money by doing it myself. Ps: i have a 2013 Honda Accord Touring

The little switch that indicates the trunk was closed broken. Easy 10 min fix.
