Not hard to install if you know what your doing ( I didn't I have to admit, I had to guess a bit). The screws have very few threads so be careful backing them out, you'll loose it quickly if your not careful. These are installed in my steel french patio doors and the slim line design works perfect. No rubbing or hanging up .No instructions included so be handy with tools to make it easy.

Easy to install and work. I would rather have pigtails connections than this, but it is convenient until you drop one of the very tiny screws.

I had two perimeter doors that constantly gave me false alarms (one metal and one wood).I bought and installed these wide gap alarm contacts and haven't had any problems since. This is what you need for any outside door or gate or hatch that is subject to movement due to heating and cooling conditions. The wide gap accommodates expansion and contraction and prevents false alarms that you might otherwise get.
