New home, new furnace, and it requires these extra-thick monstrosities, which are by no means inexpensive. I searched hardware stores in my vicinity and found that most didn't even carry them in stock, and the one that did was charging $69.99. Luckily I found them here for less money. The filter fits perfectly and the MERV 11 rating is, frankly, more than I need for my home (by the time you get to 13 you're basically talking about clean-room and laboratory ratings) so we're getting excellent performance at a reasonable price.
