As someone with POTS who gets overheated very easily, these fans are absolutely lifesavers. They're air re-circulators but work so intensely that you don't really need to put them in front of a vent or window to get cold. The force of the air moving along cools down a room really well and I even get chilly sitting in front of one. Usually I keep mine pointed at the ceiling to pull air from down to up, so the air has nice flow but doesn't blow directly on me, except during flair ups. It helps a lot that it's firmly tabletop sized and has little foam bits in the bottom to keep it stable. The sound isn't terrible - it's not silent by any means but it's very consistent and great for white noise lovers. It gets louder incrementally with speed but I rarely even need to go past 1.I bought my first one four years ago and another just recently in a different color; the quality has been the same across the board!

I bought this little fan for use at my desk in a hot bedroom that cannot have a window air conditioner because we bought side opening windows not realizing their limitation that way-never thinking I would fall in love with it. The first day I used it we had the unending heat wave in NY and I thought it would be an added boost to the other 2 floor fans I was using to alternate using the air conditioner after we had a 3 hour power outage. Was I ever delighted and surprised. I put it on a side sofa table in the living room instead of the super hot bedroom and the dog immediately laid down in front of it and went to sleep. When I turned the air conditioner on later, I kept asking my husband what temperature we had it on because the air conditioner felt like it had become so much more powerful and we realized we had forgotten to shut off this small fan but it was maximizing the air conditioner big time. Right now the dog has put herself right in front of it and is snoring away. I am so tempted to return the big floor fan I bought at the same time ( never realized there was assembly for that one) and just buy another one of these.It also has a nice footprint ( I bought the white one based on other reviews)- it looks nice, is quiet, petite and attractive. All in all, a winner.

Very powerful on the higher speeds yet isn’t loud but has a soothing sound. The fan isn’t heavy so it’s very portable. I’ve purchased this at least 6 times over the years and they are very durable and last for many years. I would buy again.

Update: 8/15/20. I am updating this review because I noticed a burning smell. I saw some hair wrapped around the center bit, but after removing it, still having trouble getting the fan to spin at more than a low speed on the high setting, even with lube. Because of the design, I can't really get the whole thing apart without a lot of effort and breaking it. I've had this fan for three and a half years now, and inherited another three of these fans from my grandmother after her passing.The good: Nice strong air flow when they work. Price is nice and cheap. Usually low-maintenance. Very portable. Emergency in a room and you need a fan? This is nice, strong, easy to put in place.The bad: Lot of potential defects. They get noisy over time and something happened with my gran's fan where it won't stay in place and, because of the weighting, it just wants to point up at the ceiling.The ugly: Cleaning this thing is frustrating AF. A fan should be easy to take apart and not a pain to put back together, and you shouldn't have screws that were never designed to really come out. The blade cover design looks nice, but harder to scrub. If you need to do ANYTHING to fix a problem with the motor or whatever, just give up. For this reason, while I might one day buy one of these again as a spare, I'm going to stick with my other desk fan model, which, when it gets a problem, is easier to fix. It's a Lorell, and it's bigger than I'd like for this spot, but I'm just not down for more noise or trouble cleaning ATM. I continue to use this Honeywell model at work and in other areas of the house, and ~5 bucks a year for some annoyance is still pretty decent, but I don't have the spoons for this.tl;dr, get this model if you have short hair and need a strong backup fan, and don't mind replacing it whenever it starts annoying you, or if you just want a frugal fix. If you want something for a longer haul, something you can easily tinker back into top shape, opt for something else.The fan is quiet and works pretty well, but I did knock it over twice, and I'm not sure if that's what caused the blades to have trouble turning for some reason. Took it apart and applied tri-flow to the friction points with good, but not ideal results. I find it warms up if I mess with the settings a bit, and starts blowing strong, but that means in order to not have to do that every time, I have to keep it on.Four stars because this could be my fault, but also because it didn't fall far at all, and hit carpet.

I live in an area where the electric service is erratic and there are frequent brown outs> My air conditioner takes a while to recycle and turn back on so I bought this fan. So far, it has performed as expected. It is quiet and all you can hear is a slight hum but is easily ignored. It is powerful and produces a great deal of cool air. It has been a great help in allowing me to sleep thru the night. All this from a small fan that was designed and made to sell at a very low price. I'm going to order another one!

Perfect size to mount in small space and relatively quiet on low setting. It works very well in my bathroom where installing a regular vent is costly and impractical. I bought one, then another additional 2.Reasonable pricing.

Avienta aire como para una recamara chica, si no te gusta mucho el aire por que te congelas este es el indicado. Puse uno en el trabajo y la verdad que hace su trabajo , ruido bajo y potencia demas . Lo recomiendo por el precio y marca . Posible pida otraACTUALIZACIÓN:Adquiri un segundo solo que esta vez por amazon mexico y la calidad es mala, viene flojo de la parte donde se ajusta. Quede decepcionado, mil veces el de importación raza . Jala bien para el tamaño .

first of all it color looks kind of duplicate. like not pure white or any other color. secondly it doesn't have proper pin to connect to the socket. third burning smell comes while running. it was the first day, then it didn't work
