Definitely more for kids 5 and up. My toddler and her little friends needed a lot of assistance with rolling the ball to knock over the pins, but the older kids enjoyed it the most.

My husband and I got these to share with our church's youth program but figured we needed to test them out ahead of time with a little bowling date night! Though it took a while for me to manually blow these up as I don't have an air pump, I eventually got it done and we were ready to roll (literally, haha.) The bowling pins are weighted in the base which keeps them upright and not prone to blow away unless you are playing in a pretty serious wind storm. The ball isn't weighted but is large enough that you can knock over the pins without too much force. All ages, from youngsters to grandpa, will enjoy rolling this comically gigantic ball towards the brightly colored pins! It would be fun to arrange the pins in different ways, potentially placing one or two on a higher platform to create complex trick shots that can't safely be performed with a heavy bowling ball in a bowling alley. I was expecting to say this product was overpriced, but honestly the pins and the ball are really high quality and much larger than I was expecting, so I think this is fairly priced at $49 (at the time of this review.) It also comes with a PVC patch in case you develop a hole in one of the pieces, though it would take quite a bit of rough housing to pop one of these pins.

My husband's family are all avid game players, and every time we get together for a family event they love to play some sort of games. Lately, since the weather has been pretty good, they have played Corn Hole or Pickle Ball - both really fun games. But last weekend we had a party to celebrate my husband's birthday, and I decided to get this outdoor bowling set out. The result was unanimous - EVERYONE LOVED IT! My in-laws used to be avid bowlers - even bowling on a league after they retired from working. And everyone else, no matter what their skill level, also gave it a try. Everybody had so much fun! Even the smallest children and the most inexperienced bowlers gave it a try! And in the end, they all wanted to do it again! This is so much fun for the entire family! I love how simple it is to set up in the back yard - and blowing it up took just minutes (we cheated and used our air pump, which made it even quicker!). The pieces are all pretty sturdy, and the set comes with patch material, just in case you should get a "hole in one" lol. Overall it was great fun, and an excellent addition to our outdoor family games!

Even though you can play with this set indoors, clearly they're perfect for outdoor use. Each individual pin is weighed down by a disc that you will find in the base. That weight isn't so heavy that the pins can't be knocked over by a very small child. But they are heavy enough that they won't tip over if the wind starts blowing outside.This isn't the first thing that we've ordered from Funboy. We've also been ordering different inflatables for beach and pool use. All of that stuff has been high quality, and this is also high quality. I know that they mention you can use an air pump or an electric pump to inflate everything. But truth is, you really don't. You can blow everything up the exact same way that you would inflate something at the beach. Just pinch the valve, and then blow air into it the old fashioned way. Really doesn't take long to do.Our Daughter likes playing with this bowling set, both outdoors and indoors. Unlike the plastic bowling sets that are always in the toy section of the store, this doesn't need to be played on a flat hard surface like your driveway. You can play it on the grass, at the beach, at a park, wherever.Now this isn't worth taking a star off the rating for this set. But I do have to mention that the individual inflatables do smell a little strange when you first take them all out of the box. It's just a strange little "chemical" type smell. Not a big deal, especially when you consider that you will probably be playing with the set outdoors anyway. But if you do have to keep them indoors the first day you inflate them, maybe stick them in a room that nobody is in so that they can air out.The material is durable enough that I don't see anything popping or breaking. Should last a long time. The design is really cool as well. We got this pastel striped set for our Daughter. But then decided to get the Hot Wheels version for her little cousin that comes over to stay sometimes. Our family would recommend this to others.

not for use with any kind of wind. we took these with us on vacation and attempted to set this up in the backyard at our seaside rental, and we couldn't even play at all, because the wind just wasn't working with this. the pins would fall over and you couldn't even throw the ball. It was kind of a bust. probably works great with no wind.

This set seems even bigger in person. It's super fun, but be sure to have an electric pump at the ready. My 5 year old loves using himself as the bowling ball. And it's held up. No pops, seems thick and durable. Because it takes so long to blow up and deflate, we use it maybe once or twice a week. But it's memorable and my kids love it. That's what's important in my book!
