I have a pretty good size collection of records (vinyl lps and 78rpm). it is often a little of a chore to find and pull out my current favorites from all the rest. I wind up with a stack of records on the floor or leaning against a bookcase or wall. This expandable storage (and display) record holder is now my solution. The record storage rack easily holds about 50+ lps (depends on whether they are single lps or multi sets or "gatefolds'' and in addition the record which you are listening to can be displayed in the front where it says, "NOW PLAYING".The record holder's base is made of a nicely finished dark wood of a mahogany-like color. The dividers are made of metal with a chrome finish. The holder is constructed so that if you slide the base all the way out it can be expanded to hold maybe 70 records. It takes about 30 seconds (and no tools) to assemble this from the box it comes in. Of course, the surface you set this on must be flat and secure.I agree with some other reviewers that there should be at least one more metal divider support supplied with this holder so that if it is only partially full, the records are kept in a more upright order. For me this is not a deal-breaker because I don't have a shortage of records, and I keep it pretty full.In short, I think this is a useful vinyl display/storage rack which looks good too. It would also be a thoughtful gift for a vinyl lover you know.

This record storage is great. It slides to accommodate more or fewer records, but doesn't just slide around on its own. It's the ideal amount of friction to be adjustable and secure. The 'Now playing' slot is big enough to hold any record case I have, and is very useful for being able to find the sleeve when you put records away.

Made well, looks great, and does a fantastic job of holding and displaying records. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I am thoroughly impressed. This probably won’t be my long term storage solution, but for the records I’m listening to right now, which tends to be about a dozen, it’s more than good enough.

This review is the result of discussion between my husband and I; the records themselves are his, and he knows way more about them than I do, so I defer to his opinion mostly. The primary complaint comes down to pressure spots. The metal u-shaped bar puts pressure on a specific spot on the top of the record in the back. This will warp the record itself over time. Also, the narrow bottom part puts pressure on the middle of the record sleeve, which can damage it over time.I suggested moving the back u-shaped bar forward a notch (as there are several holes for these divider bars), and he pointed out that while this does reduce the pressure point on the back, it also means he cannot actually flip through the records to find the one he's looking for. This doesn't seem to be something that most people care about with this unit, but it bugs my husband, so I include it. He does agree that more of the dividers would be very useful, as it would reduce the pressure on the back record, and provide better organization, instead of being restricted to just two "sections".Also, while this holder is adjustable, there's no locking function to keep the holder in place at the width that you choose; it just slides back and forth. If you have a smaller number of records that are leaning against the back bar, the weight of the records leaning forces the pieces apart. More of the divider bars would help, as you could make several sections that are smaller, reducing the amount of "lean" in your record stack. We've had to place ours against a wall in order to stop it from expanding.

This is a well executed, simple storage solution for any vinyl collection. It is well made, lovely smooth wood and easy to assemble. I really like the now playing end, it adds a quirky touch to it. Great value for money, this is good quality and holds a really good amount of vinyls.

I just started getting into vinyl’s and needed something basic to store and organize my small collection of vinyl records, and this holder does the job. It’s has a very minimalistic, open design to it, and the wooden base looks great in a lot of décor. What I liked:* Has a bit of a vintage look or style to it* Does a decent job at supporting the records.* The wire arch supports are quite rigid, as they made out of solid chrome plated steel rods. They provide solid support* The arch supports can be repositioned. There are extra holes in the base, so you can adjust to better support your record collection.* The base is stable and does not rock around* The base is expandable and will “grow,†with your collection* The base is made out of stained solid wood and not plastic* Overall design is minimalistic allowing your records to stand out instead of the rack.  What I didn’t like: * While the records are not going to tip over or spill over sideways, when the base is expanded, the expanded portion in the middle is a bit narrower than the ends. Overall, I feel that it’s much better for the records to have the load supported over a wider base or even the full length of the record, rather than a narrow one, since it would create less pressure points. This however, only comes up as a concern if you have valuable and collectible records you want store or display. I don’t have any of those so, it isn’t much of an issue for me yet.

This is a very clever expanding vinyl record storage rack. The execution is very simple. It slides apart to expand your storage. Putting it together is simply a case of placing the U-shaped steel retainers into the pre-drilled holes in the base, which allows for a variety of storage solutions, from just a few albums to many. Once placed on a flat surface, it offers stable storage. At one end is a cut out groove you to store/display the records you are playing at any given time. Though it is simple, it is actually quite elegant in its own way. As a fastidious vinyl owner, I feel my records are safe and secure and kept upright to avoid warping. Very good price too. Definitely recommended.

Personally I'm just using it for storage, not for display and it works great. It's pretty stable and can expand and hold upwards of 50 vinyl records and probably even more. Simple and effective design!

This is a well-made simple design LP holder. It is made from a dark wood with no rough edges. It is expandable so will always look full. It has "now playing" at one end, which I actually think detracts from this holder and makes it look tacky, so the option to add these words with stick on letters would be good.
