Just starting with mead making test jar and hydrometer work well, just make sure to sanitize each time when using. Our readings seem to be consistent with its use. Good value.

I have been brewing wine for 3 years using my husband’s hydrometer and decided to get my own as he tends to misplace his. The first one I received was broken in the packaging with no visible damage to to packaging. They replaced the hydrometer and the second one came in tact. I had a wine in primary fermentation and wanted to check levels when I reracked. First, the graduated cylinder is larger so it takes quite a bit more of sample (at least a half cup). But I put the hydrometer in, lifted it slightly to make sure there was no sticking and released and it hit the bottom and broke. To me, the glass is just too fragile and therefore it’s not worth the low price point. I didn’t get to actually take a reading, but I thought this would be easy to read. But I can’t recommend as I’m 0/2 one these. Spend a bit more $ and get a sturdier hydrometer.

I ordered this hydrometer for my partner as part of a mead making kit I put together for him. It arrived promplty, not even 36 hours later. I opened it to make sure all was well before I wrapped it & I’m glad I did because somehow the scale was shattered inside the case. The both the shipping & product packaging was perfect & the glass test jar was in tact. I contacted the seller to resolve this issue & they responded within 6 hours or so. They were super great & immediately sent me a new one without having me go through the hassle of sending the broken one back. There ended up being some issues with USPS delivering to my address, but that was no problem. The sellers sent one out, again. Then of course, that happened again so they sent me another one to a different address. The customer service from these guys is amazing. They are super responsive & solved my problems instantly. If you’re looking for a hydrometer, this is the one you want. Quality product & great sellers to back it up. I recommend, 10/10.
