I honestly am astounded by how cheap and great this part is. for ~11$ I was able to save myself 268$ for what the mechanic was going to charge. Replacing it wasn't hard at all, I used a mass airflow spray to clean off the connector point before snapping it in. On a 2013 Hyundai Elantra this external ambient sensor sits directly in front of the radiator so you have to jack the car up, and remove the engine splash guard to get to the clip area. You MIGHT can do it through slipping your hands through the front grill to reach the sensor area if you can't jack the car up and remove the engine splash guard. I suspect that will be more challenging. The hardest part for me was getting one of the plastic clips off the splash guard otherwise it took about 30 mins to do. My car idle is running like a beauty now around 800-900 rpm (as opposed to ~500-600rpm) and with the AC on! before it would rough idle and jerk at times if I turned the AC on. I replaced the oxygen sensor and cleaned the MAP sensor before this and noticed a major improvement on my mpg, i'm curious if this would further improve it. Time will tell, I will try and update and let you know if the gas mileage improves or not in the next few days.

As someone else said, it is easier to jack up the car (either side) so you can fit your head under there.Remove shield which I keep removed anyway.Put your head in the middle of the vehicle and look up. You will see it on the bracket.Unplug. Pry off with skinny screwdriver or needlenose pliers.Put back in reverse order. I was done in about 20-30 minutes.I would try this first if your A/C is acting up, if you don't mind spending the money.
