I used this cupcake stand for my son's birthday party, and it was perfect! It looks great, and the 4 tiers were just the right size for displaying a mix of cupcakes and treats. The stand feels sturdy, and it was easy to assemble. I received many compliments on how nice it looked.

The wood is the standard cheap and sort of soft wood you frequently see from Chinese import goods like these. The grain looks like alder or maybe birch, but the coloration is different- could be a regional difference.That said, while the wood is VERY soft, AND UNFINISHED, the piece in general is quite nice. My wife bought this for Thanksgiving pies, and, before it could be used, I treated it with a paste of mineral oil and beeswax meant for cutting boards and charcuterie trays.It not only amplified the colors in the wood, but obviously added a layer of stain prevention.Long story short- this is cheap, but if you know how to treat it, it is a very decent value.

Like other reviews, the top platform is warped. For cupcakes it would be ok but not for a cake. As for fitting 50 cupcakes, maybe mini cupcakes. The 3 smaller platforms can fit 6 each. The larger top one can fit 12. That's a total of 30. Misleading description stating it will hold 50.

Ordered these to use to elevate items on my kitchen counter and nook over my fireplace. Worked perfectly. Still have two I can use when entertaining. Love the finish too.

This stand came in a LOT of pieces. That said, the assembly directions were clear and simple. All of the holes lined up well, and the resulting structure is sturdy. It wasn't difficult, but it took some time. Once assembled, it looks great. The wood is well cut and smooth to the touch with no rough or splintery edges. The levels provided are smart with the 3 lower pieces staggered just a bit apart, thus leaving plenty of headspace for the items set on them. I think the assembled structure is pretty large to store as is, so I ended up unscrewing the long center rod that holds the top disk. This greatly decreases the space needed, and also means you don't have to take the entire thing apart and reassemble every time you might like to use it. If that strategy works for you, I would recommend it as a great display piece for a variety of food and non-food items!
