I don’t live in an area that gets snow very often, but I do get some mud and gravel falling onto my driveway and wondered if this type of product could help with keeping my driveway clean. Bottom line: It’s a little light duty for mud and gravel, but still useful and I’d imagine it works even better for ice and light snow. When I first opened the box, I was a little underwhelmed. The metal blade is sufficiently sharp, but a much lighter gauge than, say, a garden spade. The handle is made up of 3 sections of metal tubing that didn’t feel particularly heavy duty. However, once assembled, it feels stronger than the individual parts would suggest. The handle, once assembled, feels strong enough for scraping pavement but I wouldn’t use this product for prying or lifting. It’s not really meant for that, anyway.I haven’t used it long enough to determine how rust resistant the tool is, but cleaning and drying tools after use is a good idea with yard tools, anyway. Using this tool to scrape light mud and gravel off of my driveway proved effective and easier than using a shovel. It’s lightweight and easy to use. I think that it would work well for pushing light snow or chipping and scraping ice from concrete or asphalt surfaces.

Head snapped off after first 15 minutes of use. Thin metal didn't stand a chance. Don't waste your money.

This got a good work out with our last snow fall about a week or so ago. My husband really liked using it. Said it saved a lot of wear and tear on his back and was really good on scraping off ice off of the pavement in the driveway. It is definitely worth the money. I highly recommend.

I ordered this tool to help with ice removal from our driveway and hope it will come in handy in the summer with yard work. The title says snow shovel, but it is not. It is for scraping ice. It came in a few pieces and although it did not come with assembly instructions, it was easy to assemble. The scraper is good quality and is welded together in 5 areas. Although the handle was easy to assemble, it is not of the best quality and we don’t plan to use it for real strenuous work such as prying large rock or yard material. My husband used it to remove ice from our driveway. (Conditions were below freezing for several days after snow) Pictures are attached. The handle has a loop for hanging with other outdoor tools. The only height adjustment he found was by removing one whole section of pole which significantly adjusted the height. I would say it is worth the $17 price (at the time of this review) for ice removal and yard work.

One of the holes for the screws was not opened and I could not remove the metal so I could not put it together to try it. Looked like it Mike work but it has to go back. Annoying as I have to go out of my way to return it.

The scraper blade is much smaller than it appears in the photos, but the photo with measurements is accurate at a hair over 9". The blade is sharp. I can't see it being of much use as a snow shovel since the platform is so small, but then that would depend on the area you are shoveling. The advantage to a smaller blade is that it won't be that heavy if/when loaded with snow. I can see it being handy for a porch or deck, or a path to the mailbox?! I can see it being handy as a scraper in the yard or on the driveway. The handle is hollow but seems sturdy. Remember you are not "shoveling" with this, like digging dirt, so you don't really need a solid wood handle. But if you want one, you can get them at the hardware store. For its intended purpose, I think the handle is sufficient. I would recommend this product.
