Recently reworked the plumbing in my laundry room. Transitioned from copper to PEX for the price and ease of install. Made a mistake and had to remove a crimp ring. It was a PITA! Ended up using a Dremel tool with cutoff wheel. The store had a device that basically twists the crap out of it till it breaks. That's fine for demo I suppose, but that twisting force could cause problems so I opted for this. Work great and cuts rings with ease

It's a good tool itself. But to properly cut clamp you need a good access to it at correct angle that isn't always a thing. So this tool is only helpful sometimes.

Have only needed to cut a dozen or so clamps so far but worked well on every one.

These things are awesome! Saves me tons of time cutting PEX crimp fittings off pipes. Literally hours saved over trying my old method with needle nose pliers plus its safer. They don't seem hard to operate to me. Im not trying to sound like a tough guy but i seriously don't know what people are talking about in other reviews. The handle pull isn't half of what my crimping tool is... but i digress. Get these if you are removing more than a few PEX crimp fittings. Its worth the money for sure and the tool seems solid. Not pro-grade solid but heavy homeowner use solid.

Do not try to mess with a "pex" clamp unless you have one of these! This day and age the "good ole reliable hose clamp" is going the way of the dinosaur to be replaced with pex clamps! If you own this tool your job will be cut substantially in time!!! Take it from me as a witness of my husband!

I successfully removed 3/8" and 1/2" PEX cinch clamps with this tool. The 1/2" clamp required significant handle force to cut its ear. Had to remove a couple of 1" PEX cinch clamps and found far too much force was required that this tool's short handles could provide. I didn't try any cheater pipes over the handle ends as it's pretty cumbersome in tight spaces, likely cut the handle's rubber coating, and possibly exceed the tool's design strength.I had to use my Dremel tool fitted with a cutoff wheel that cut through the metal ear with ease. Word to the wise and good luck.

They crimp the clamps ok but the clip to release the “grip†is hard to use.
