I needed to mount a small SSD in my Dell computer - which only has 3.5 full sized slots. After some consideration I ordered this one. I find it to work very well, with no tools required to mount the SSD.The device has two levels, so that dual SSD can be mounted. The SSD slides in and fits snugly, and is held in place by a couple of plastic tabs.. Then the entire assembly went into the computer exactly right. I have no complaints at all about this model. They include four small screws to secure the holder into the bay, but those were not needed, because Dell has sliding removable mounts. The only thing to note is that the drives may sit further away from the end of the mount than a normal 3.5 drive, so you might need to be creative with running the power and data cables to the SSD. Not really that big a deal.Summary: If you are looking for a good SSD mounting solution at a great price, look no further. Highly recommended.

In a recent (re)build of computers in the household we decided to have the boot drive available externally using a docking system, however in two of the computers it wasn't possible and so we needed another option. The TRIO from ICY DOCK provides that option by allowing the boot drive and others to be more easily accessible. In the mini ITX system, a pair of screws removes the covers to the case and disconnecting the SATA DATA/POWER cables and squeezing two tabs lets us pull the boot drive out so that we can duplicate it and then put it back in. In fact we can do this with all 3 drives if we wanted to. Going into this it was readily apparent that we'd need straight (non-angled) DATA and POWER cables. This assembly has the same physical dimensions as a single 3.5 inch hard drive in our mini ITX computer case we were able to tuck the excess cables under the assembly. The instructions were clear, that is remove the bar across the guides you wished to use (in our case, all three came off), attach the drives to the guide insuring the black plastic studs entered into each of the drives side screw holes, and slide the drive into the frame (there is a slight click when you have fully pushed the guide/drive into the frame). Mount the assembly to the computer and lastly hook up the DATA and POWER cables. We found it best to make a backup of the boot drive using a USB duplicator and to store it along with license information in a separate folder for each PC. We like to make backups of the boot drive at least twice a year or if there is a significant change. This item, the ICY DOCK TRIO saved us a lot of time and money. It's worth it. Hope this helps you and others out.

Works as expected. Had to sort of figure out how the drive snaps in but I like it. Adequate ventilation.

So far all ssd and hdd of 2.5 inch fit well in this adapter. Wouldn't recommend stacking 3 drives due to heat but even for 2 the easy removal sleds are worth it in function. Highly recommend this for more ssd storage growth.

Hard Drive Used:SK Hynix Gold S31 1TBSystem:HP Envy 750-124Bought the 3 of these and it was simple, plug the pwr and data cables, slide the ssd and bracket in, listen for a click-click and you're finished. While it's true your drive bay may be located in different location than mine or somebody else's, it shouldn't matter. If you can fit a 3.5 HDD in, that you'll have no problem with this. The bracket gives you multiple different mounting slots, so you'll be hard-pressed to find a case that this doesn't support. You can fit two 2.5 drives, if you plan on using 3 ssd's I'd recommend just using 1 ssd per bracket or you'll have to use additional slot on your PSU for SATA pwr, you won't be able to finesse the cable, and make it work. I've used both L-shaped and regular SATA data cables, so i'm not sure what one of the reviewers is talking about. All in all, if you have a desktop and are switching to ssd's then purchasing this bracket is a must.

Hard to say much about a 3.5" to 2.5" HDD bracket, but this design covers all angles. Much better design over the simple stamped brackets for a similar price. This worked perfectly for my needs. Has mounting posts for 3.5" drives on the bottom and sides. I only needed to use this for a single drive but the lack of messing with screws for the 2.5" drives is nice. I had a 3.5" drive in a 1U SuperMicro rack server and the heatsink on the PCIe card I installed interfered with the 3.5" drive.I ordered this, imaged the 3.5" drive onto a 2.5" drive and notched the corner out of this with a Dremel to clear the heatsink, slid the drive into the slot until it clicked and screwed it down. I could still put a second drive in if I wanted. This comes with the proper screws for mounting. The threads are for plastic. One thing to pay attention to is the SATA power and data cables if using two drives. I don't recall right now if you would be able to use right angle connectors depending on how you mount this. My use required using the bottom holes on the 3.5" tray to mount to the sheet metal of the case.

The metal feels sturdy and is much better quality than what's in your typical PC tower. It does indeed fit two 2.5" drives stacked in a 3.5" space. This does fit just fine in a Dell Optiplex Small formfactor case. The action of locking the drives into place is very nice and much more convenient than fumbling with tiny screws. It also made it easier to install the drives back in my case, since those small formfactor cases are a tight squeeze with not much room to route cables--I was able the leave a drive unlocked in the the adapter, get the SATA cable connected, install the adapter in the computer case, then slide and click the drive into place. It would have been a much bigger pain without the slide-lock system. This is a nice product, better than expected and perfect for my needs.

This 3.5 " to 2.5" adapter makes it easy to install and remove SSD's in a standard HDD drive bay. The snap in feature is really useful and feels well built.
