NOTE:
The Ignition Lock Housing is located on your steering column and contains the ignition cylinder. When you turn the key, the tumbler in the cylinder moves and causes it to rotate in the ignition lock housing. This activates the ignition switch, which sends a signal to start your engine
If the ignition lock housing is damaged, this may allow the ignition tube to rotate freely without the key, or it may prevent your vehicle from starting
Ignition Lock Housing is easy to install. We will put towels or gloves in the product, hoping to help you during the installation process

Previously I had to aggressively push the key in and turn to turn my car on but after replacing the part it turns on smoothly.

The 2 small 1/4" long pins (one top , one bottom) that retain metal cylinder (for ignition key cylinder) to plastic ignition lock housing fell out. This allowed the lock cylinder move forward and to disengage the "D" slot on the ignition lock housing resulting in nothing happened when the ignition key was turned.I repaired this by reinserting the pins and using super glue to prevent them from falling out again.Terrible quality for something so simple.

2009 mazda tribute 3.0L. i was having trouble starting the car, id have to turn the key far and hard before it would start cranking. there was slope in the ignition(key), you could wiggle the key back and forth. so i bought this ignition housing. Installed just fine, i did not have to remove the steering wheel. i had only one problem, it was like the ignition was learning the system at each stage, as it took a couple tries for it to accept the lock, then took a couple tries to start the car. then took some time to figure out the audio chimes, like it had to learn the system? i dont know, but after a few tries turning on and off the car and a couple days driving it, it works perfect now. been installed a couple months now and working perfectly. very happy. i would recommend this product. Still working great!!!

The key cylinder position on the new device was not set in the “off†position and the old key cylinder would not seat properly until it was rotated to the correct position. Just use the old part to reference the position and use pliers to rotate the “Dâ€. Ignition action is a little stiff, hopefully will break in soon. Great price.
