HungMy mountain bike with hydraulic brakes to gain space in my small work shop. Allowing me to hang my bike upright to keep air bubbles out of the brake lines was super handy and the pulley system is smooth and easy to operate.

You could assemble the components for a better bike hoisting system at any decent hardware store, but the part you would buy would cost two or three times as much, and you would spend a fair amount of time figuring out what to buy and how to assemble it.I see several review that report the packaging indicates a lesser weight capacity than the 100 lb indicated in the listing. My packaging shows the weight capacity as 45 kg -- 100 lb. Regardless, I am confident that, in fact, much more than 100 lb. could be supported by this hardware. The actual limiting factor on weight capacity will not be the hardware provided, but rather the installation method. The box includes screws with plastic anchors that are normally used for installing screws in sheetrock. Anyone who uses those to attach to a sheetrock ceiling will almost certainly have a problem. Even if the plastic anchors are used to attach the hardware to wood trusses the result will be weaker than if screwed directly into the wood after a proper size hole has been pre-drilled. Other reviews contain suggestions for mounting. The instructions provided fail to provide guidance on the need for a secure mounting. It is easy to overlook on the installation instructions the correct routing of the rope used for lifting. There is a hole in the cam lock fitting through which the cord should be threaded. Unfortunately the hole is barely large enough for the provided rope, which would make it difficult to upsize the rope.Which brings me to the issue of the gaps between pulley cheeks and the sheaves. The gap is enough that the provided rope can jump out of the sheave groove and become wedged. The sheaves are designed so that squeezing the cheeks to reduce the gap results in friction at the axle before the gap is significantly reduced. While a larger rope could eliminate the risk of jamming, the hole in the cam lock does not permit such a substitution. It is for this reason, and the potential that a person could be misled by the plastic sheetrock anchors and fail to attach to solid wood, that I am giving 4 stars rather than 5.Additional comments -- As others mention, the hooks to hang the bike do not really have enough curve to hold securely and you probably will need to do some bending to get a good result. My seat does not have a structure to which the hooks would attach, so I use a cord under a frame section and secure the hooks to that. If you have a speedometer or the like mounted on handle bars there is a possibility of conflict with hooks, and you may need to be careful to avoid damage to any wire connecting to a sensor. The cleat provided to tie off the rope when the bike is lifted is definitely pretty cheesy, but the cam lock is good enough that the cleat is really not needed. If you are a belt and suspenders person you might want to upgrade the cleat. Otherwise the cleat basically just provides a method to get excess rope out of the way.So while this is not perfect, it provides a good solution at a good price, and I would buy another one if I had a second bike.

I needed a way to hang fairly large LED lights these bicycle racks worked perfect for the job. Their intended use is to pick up bikes and store above.I use these to pick up my LED lights and once in the air you can level them with little effort and if you move your lights a lot they are a must-have instead of normal four ratchet straps which are a pain, and sometimes hard to get to all four points. These bike racks have one rope pull on the front of the unit easy peasy

The idea is great, and once installed it is easy to operate. The installation process, however, was frustrating due to poorly engineered and even worse quality fastener components. The drywall anchors lacked any lip or protrusion to prevent them from pushing all the way into the wall. And if you could manage to keep them from sinking in, they would simply spin freely as they were smooth all the way around and had no way of gripping the drywall to stay in place. The screws that were including were soft metal. The heads stripped with any amount of resistance when screwing directly into studs, even with the properly sized hole pre-drilled. More than one screw broke in half or had the head complete break off. Am I supposed to expect these to hold up my bike from the ceiling?! Fortunately, I had my own anchors and screws from another project that worked to fasten the plates to the ceiling.Like I said, great concept; however, I highly recommend that you use graded hardware purchased separately if you intend to get this item.

I needed to store a water mat off of the floor in the garage, but wanted it to be easy to take out and put away. A system like this seemed like the perfect solution. Figured for the price on Amazon, it would probably be cheaper than buying parts and building my own.Installation was pretty straight forward. I did have an issue with the paracord feeding through the hole on the brake mechanism. The hole is a bit small, so only the inner portion of the cord would feed through and pushed the outer layer back. I resolved this by wrapping the end tightly with electrical tape to allow it to go through the hole together.Operation works ok. It does make lifting the water mat easier, but it doesn't want to go up evenly just by pulling the cord. The side away from the pulling side doesn't want to raise along with the pulling side pulley. I was able to pull it up evenly by pulling the cord with one hand and using the other hand to help the far side raise at the same rate. A bit less convenient, but still easier than simply trying to lift the 40 pound water mat by myself. I assume it might work easier with a bike, or perhaps you need to guide it with one hand on those as well.

we had a bike hoist lift for our tandem at our old house. so, moving to our new house, ordering a new bike hoist bicycle lift was near the top of my list. downsizing, the new garage is smaller than the last one so it was even more important to get our tandem up and out of the way. the lift was easy to install and seems quite stable - even though our 25-year old bicycle is a bit of a tank.

Fairly easy to install. I did not use the provided screws and drywall anchors. I used longer screws and attached to stud / ceiling joist. Works well and nice locking feature to stop bike from falling

I can't think of many houses where this could be used. Garden sheds, and probably garages, will be too low for a bicycle to clear head height. Maybe in a house/flat with a tall ceiling it would fit. But if you do have the right space for it I can highly recommend it. Good quality cord (not too thin), lots of fixing holes.

Works very well. Pulleys are strong and quiet. Directions are ok. Could be larger. Difficult to see how to put rope through the last pulley/stopper at the pull end. Also, just put a lot on the other end
