I selected the iittala Taika saucers in 4.5" and also 6" to use as dessert plates. Typically, I serve adults on the 6" saucer and children get the 4.5" saucer.These sizes are perfect for making a simple cookie or petit four look more impressive. Since the design on the plate is so whimsical and fun, sometimes children notice that instead of begging for more dessert. Almost every new guest at our table comments on how cute the dessert plates are.I've had these just shy of two years now and they get used daily, handled by young children (boys!), microwaved, and run through the dishwasher. I see no signs of wear on any of my 10 pieces (4 espresso saucers, 6 coffee saucers) and have had none break or chip thus far.Buy these because you love the design, but you will also enjoy them for their high quality and excellent performance when you use them.

I recently bought a fairly high end home espresso maker and wanted to get a few nice espresso cups to heighten the espresso experience even more! I looked through the internet fairly extensively for something with interest and able to hold a double espresso. Most espresso cups are 2 oz, while this is a little over 3 oz - perfect for a double espresso! The cups appear to be of quality construction, and I really like the quirky design of the paintings on the cup/saucer. The motive is evocative of a magical forest from some fairy tail. I also got the matching cup as well as a duplicate of both in the white color. Very nice... I highly recommend these for those who really enjoy the espresso experience!

I bought all three colors of this owl motif espresso cup and saucer set. They are beautifully detailed, very nice quality, and hold a healthy size shot of espresso. They're also a welcome change from the plain solid colors most often available.
