Very well made. Sturdy, beautiful and does what it does very well. I just want to give a counter argument for reviews that the product made a mess in the kitchen and splashing the coffee around. It isn’t the product’s fault. It has everything to do with the coffee extraction and consistency of the coffee. I have becoming more serious about my espresso making and learned that I need to dial my grinds and use the right coffee to pull a good shot. Big difference when the shot is pulled right vs too fast. When it pulled the shot too fast is when I have coffee splashing everywhere. When the grind is too coarse, adjust the grind size and try again. That’s just my experience and thought may be good to try it before blaming the product.

In addition to being able to diagnose your shots for channeling and poor puck prep, the other benefits of this (and all) bottomless porta filters is that it is one less thing to clean, the bottom is nice and flat for tapping/tamping, and basket removal is much easier. You also get more clearance to the drop tray allowing for taller mugs.I did not use the included basket, however this worked nice with both the factory Breville basket and the 14-18g IMS precision basket

Love the weight and design/look of the portafilter, but I did find the basket it comes with is actually not very compatible with my Breville Infuser machine…the 840. It’s a very snug fit and the inside of the basket itself sounds like it’s scraping on the group head. After switching the basket out to an IMS basket I had the fit was perfect. So the list of Breville machines the portafilter is compatible with is a little misleading unless you use a different filter basket.

I love that it comes with a high extraction basket! It feels so premium and heavy in your hands, should give you a good idea of the build quality! It fits my Mara X and Flair 58 smoothly without any problems. It’s a beautiful portafilter and it works amazing.

Good quality and feel. Walnut looked great. Love the shape. However, this portafilter doesn't have a smooth bottom and thought it would be OK but it turned out to not be for my workflow. I have a Mahlkonig grinder and this portafilter could not be used in a stable fashion because of the bottom. So you might have to hold it in place, so if that's your workflow then it's probably fine and you'd be happy with it. If you like to multitask this won't be for you.

It would have been a nice portafilter but unfortunately, it does not fit my VBM machine even tho it is explicitly said it does…The VBM portafilter ears are thinned down from the factory, before they are plated. It may not be the case on recent VBM machines but it is unusable on mine unless I modify it myself, which will expose the base material.Overall good quality but if you explicitly say it works for a specific machine or brand, it should have been checked thoroughly…Check if the ears on your current portafilter look like in the picture attached before buying.
