Simple install, works as desired. I put this in a '15 WRX even though its technically not the kit for it. This kit is much cheaper and is really simple to install, I guess the new kit is supposed to be easier but I had no problem. Adds a nice effect to the car and is not to bright that it is distracting.

Perfect OEM fit. Easy installation. Light output not too distracting and matches other red lighting ambience in the Impreza WRX.

This was exactly what I was looking for for my 2015 base wrx. Install was pretty easy, I was able to mount the drivers side light on the end of a bolt on the back of the knee airbag housing but I did have to use double sided tape to mount the passengers side.I understand why people could be disappointed with the light output but I think it's perfect, it about as bright as the center console led and matches perfectly. Personally I don't want to be able to see it during the day, I think it look very OEM and less boyracer.I could not be happier, I wouldn't trade it for the $149 even if you offered to install it.

It lights up the floor as expected, so that's a good thing. Install wasn't hard but it was tedious. I took out the vent behind the front bezel around the stereo to easily access the cable. Unbeknownst to me, reconnecting that piece was very difficult, so I had to remove the stereo as well. It wasn't easy but I got it connected and it works well. To really make them pop, a floor mat with WRX on it would look nice since the red would stand out more. Otherwise, without someone's feet below, or in my case, a pizza box, you can't really notice unless you look. Still makes for good ambience.

This is two LED lights and a few feet of wire for almost $50 after shipping. This is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced for what it is. The mounts require drilling, the instructions are terrible, and the only reason this should even be more than $10 is for the plastic harnesses that clip in if you happen to have an Impreza with the proper harnesses. For about $6, you can get yourself three "little dot" LED lights. That will give you one for each footwell and the cubby, which this kit doesn't include. After that, it's about $5 worth of wire, run it to the fuse box, get an add-a-circuit for one of the fuses and ground the whole thing next to the fuse box itself. Mount your LEDs with double-stick tape, and then kick back and blow the $40 you saved on something else. This is a very easy DIY mod that anyone can do themselves, and you won't have to drill into your car to mount the things. If you have a Crosstrek, this harness doesn't fit anyway so you'll still be cutting and splicing. Pass on this, save your cash.

Meh, the only advantage this kit has over an aftermarket or DIY arrangement is that comes with the wiring harness and electrical connections for specific Subaru models. The included instructions are less than adequate but typical for these sorts of factory add-ons. Consult Youtube or other web source for better instructions and hints. Yes the lights work; no they are not distracting while driving at night; yes they are controlled by the dashboard lighting dimmer. The lights are too dim (especially given the price) so I may splice in some additional lights.

Adds a very cool effect to my 08 Impreza. Does not effect night driving, just a subtle effect that looks cool. So easy to install, locations already there for install. Took 10 minutes to install. I changed my center console to red from blue to match my gauges as well. All red now baby!

Fit into my '16 WRX just great, using the cubby light plug as noted by others. The only difference from the kit that costs $100 more is the type of plug included, and that just means a bit more disassembly to get under the head unit to access the cubby light plug. Once you get back in there, it is a plug and play affair. There are tutorials and videos on the web. The lower rear head unit bolts are the tough ones to access and get back in - a magnetized flexible head wrench would help a lot. I'm no mechanic, but following the dash disassembly tutorials online allowed my to get it done in less than an hour, which was worth the cost savings for me. There was a moment of panic when my wife came home in the middle of the process and the dash was all torn apart, but fortunately she walked right by without looking in the car! I'm confused a bit by the comments saying the light brackets won't work and that 3m tape is needed to hold the lights themselves up under the dash- I was able to use the attached brackets and existing holes placed perfectly to mount the lights using the supplied mounting bolts without need for tape.
