I was excited to find an easy to read New Testament with nice sized print! (Like what you find in most books—maybe a 12 font?) In so many Bibles, especially New Testaments, the print is so small that it’s not pleasant to read them. This version might not be my favorite version for an adult but it’s interesting to read and it’s especially good for early readers.

People disagree on which Bible translation or version is the best. In making a decision one must consider the purpose of your reading and whether the Bible has any study aids at all. The purpose of this translation is to make it easy to read for people with a limited English vocabulary, and I might add, for people who want to read quickly through the Bible without having to worry much about word meanings. It is in standard English, not colloquial, as is The Message Bible (which can be a very enlightening translation, but it is colloquial.) Some Bible translations with the same intent of readableness may be better or worse technically or in the beauty in individual verses. This Bible reaches the readability goal.Furthermore, compared to some other readable, affordable translation editions, this one has a very good introduction explaining the basic history of the Jewish people from Abraham through Jesus. It is really clear and excellent. Individual books are not introduced.When a person is ready they can progress to a translation which uses more of the liturgical or traditional words that are used in more traditional translations.They have a glossary which is called "Word List" and basic black and white maps. Personally I consider having maps is essential to any version of the Bible. In the individual books there references to similar verses elsewhere in the Bible.I highly recommend this Bible edition.

My granddaughter loved this Bible. It has many great pictures that tell many of the Bible stories. Great gift for my 9 yr old granddaughter!

As a former Sunday school teacher I jumped at the opportunity to order this bible for one of my students who was and is still mentally challenged. She has had it for some and is still enjoying it.

Formerly known as the English Version for the Deaf. This is the Bible that I give to new believers and young people. The language is very accessible for those that do not understand biblical language. This is not a book for scholarship or research. This is book that you can use to really explain the intricacies of the text. It is very well footnoted to give additional insight to difficult passages. I use it every week for teen Bible studies and give it to newcomers regularly. If you're using something else and it's not working you want to give this a try. I can almost assure you that you will never go back to what you were using previously.

We love this bible. My daughter is 9 yrs old and struggles in school with reading. We bought this bible for her for Christmas. What appealed upon looking at it was a "bible format" but easier to read then the "normal-age requirements" at regular Christian stores. This bible uses more kid-friendly words and explanations then the normal bible for children. I've looked for "this-type of bible" for over 2 yrs and could not find one anywhere. I finally found one at Walmart on clearance and wished there was 2 more but not. Looked it up on here and found them =) Absolutely perfect for kiddos who struggle with reading and comprehension.

This is a real Bible translation, the ERV (Easy-to-Read Version). It's great for young children, especially those learning to read. The sentence structure and vocabulary is simpler, but not in a way that compromises the text. On the contrary, sometimes the translators' unabashed repetition gives a result that's stylistically closer to the Hebrew. Their use of manuscripts like LXX and DSS is also good. I've been reading this together with my 4 year old, and pretty soon I expect he'll start reading it to me. This translation would probably also be useful for non-native English speakers. Overall, highly recommended.

I am an adult who tends to shy away from reading the Bible because I find it hard to read in parts. This Bible is easier to read than most, for me. The font is a good size. I still find it hard to read in parts but not as much it seems.

Nachdem ich mich mit Englisch ziemlich schwer tue, habe ich gedacht, dass ich es mit der Easy to Read Bible einfach mal versuche u. ich bin echt total begeistert, wie einfach die sich lesen lässt u. wieviel ich davon verstehe. - Einfach gut. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

I love this bible, my 5 and a half-year-old loves this bible. It has colourful artwork, and it is easy to read. I love the translation and the font choice.This will be the bible I recommend for kids.Super fast shipping was an added bonus.

Excellent bible. Text is large and easy to read. Pictures are well . Language is very easy for kids from age 9. Kids find is it interested to read it daily
