I haven’t used the kit for rock busting as of yet but it appears to be a well made kit. Handle grips are comfortable, the hand saver shields work quite well. I’m happy with this kit.

These seem well made and sturdy. The grips are easy to hold and use. The hammer has a nice weight to it, not wimpy. These will get a lot of use this summer.

I only used the sledge and one chisel to remove an old chimney. Worked as it should. 4 only because I didn’t use everything else.

It's typically referred to Cold steel which means it's been hardened at one point these are not hardened chisels they were not made to go into rock at all. Extremely dissatisfied with the product.

If I paid $36 for this I might be disappointed. But I received it free as part of the Amazon Vines program.First, the good:The 3 lb hammer is completely functional. I’d speculate it isn’t hardened steel, but I saw no damage to the hammer after several dozen blows on the included chisels. The jewelers loupe works well and is a nice addition to the kit.The two chisels are finished nicely and the protective handles are comfortable. I used the pointy one to make holes in a steel burn barrel and it held up fine. Be aware that the protective handles will slide up and down the chisel shaft as you are hammering. I didn’t use the chisel point yet, but when I do I will update this review. The bad:The eye protection does not have the ANSI rating it should. It’s been drilled in me to NEVER use safety glasses that don’t say ANSI 787 on them. These don’t. They went in the trash immediately. The whistle. Why is there a whistle? The geologists hammer is clearly of a much lower quality (hardness and finish) than my Estwing hammer. But an Estwing hammer alone would cost as much as this entire Amazon kit. So, you get what you pay for, I guess. The hammer/rock pick in this kit should be fine for softer rocks.
