I got this for cooking, as I regularly use a Blackstone griddle and a fryer (propane burner.) This allows me to get an instant reading on my griddle temperature so I know the hotter and cooler spots when cooking, and also to get the right starting temperature on my griddle (usually 350 to 375 degrees.) It's great for my frying, too. Last night I was able to monitor the temperature of cooking oil to ensure 375 degrees before dropping food into the oil, and then to keep the temperature right by adjusting the burner flame after food was added. So much easier than a standard thermometer. Love it!

I moved and misplaced my infrared digital thermometer gun. Decided to buy this one because it was really cheap. Well, maybe I should say inexpensive. It’s smaller than my other gun (which I found soon after I bought this one – seems like that’s how it always is), but I kind of like how this one is set up with the displays and buttons better.This one read 2°F lower than my other one, but which one is accurate, or is either? So, I got out a commercial IR thermal imaging camera and compared the readings of both. My original was spot on. This one reads 2°F low consistently. That’s not a lot when you’re using it for cooking which is where this one was going.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it for others? Yes, even though it reads a little low, I know that and can compensate. It’s small and fits my hand really well. Not sure why, but I really like how it feels in my hand.

I've only had this a couple weeks and use it almost every day to check how warm my sourdough starter is. I'm sure it would come in handy for other things, such as checking oven temperature, especially if you're not sure how accurate your oven is. I'm not sure it's super accurate, but should be in the ballpark. It wouldn't work for checking temperature of meat; you'd need a probe thermometer for that.

I just received this Infrared Thermometer and I am impressed. For the low price of less than $10.00 this thing works great. All I needed was to check the heat on my grill but I can think of many more ways to use this. Don't over spend, this is very accurate and it uses 2 AAA batteries that are supplied with the unit. A very good buy.

I bought this baby to help me with making sourdough bread. I use it to make sure I have the correct water temperature and for the final proofing of the dough to ensure it has reached the correct temp.Also using it for my refrigerator and oven as I am renting an apartment with lower grade appliances ðŸ‘

I appreciate the buttons, the temp is mostly accurate +/- 2 degrees, smaller heavier head than the older Mastercraft version it is replacing which was within 1 degree most of the time. No complaints seems well built and really like the backlight! Recommend.
