Great Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun! Does everything as described and is fairly accurate as far as I can tell. All the functions are easy to understand & for just simple temperature readings it is well worth the few $ that it cost.

I love having this around my house and garage. I have used it to troubleshoot my vehicles, check grill temps, etc. Super handy, seems accurate, and easy to use.

I used this to measure temperature on a stainless steel skillet. I have tried cooking eggs on the skillet for a long time and have not been able to consistently make the pan "non-stick" even with the water droplets method. This device helped me determine when the pan was at 300 degrees. Worked like a charm. I would give it 5 stars if I knew how long it was going to last.I also used it on various objects around the house and to see if my door's weatherproofing was leaking cold air

I've been kind of wanting an infrared thermometer for a good bit. Oven, grill, pizza oven, wok, skillet, boredom... I've wanted to know the relative temperatures of stuff. But at the same time when you're just slopping stuff together for yourself; Who cares? Plus I got a digital needle thermometer for the actual foodstuffs. Needless to say I never got around to spending twenty, thirty, or more on one of these infrared thermometers. But then I happened upon a listing for one under ten (not this one) and I grew curious. After reading a novel's worth of reviews across a handful of ultra cheap listings I decided this was the one. It's fairly well made and solid for cheap plastic. It's the most feature rich at this price point. It has an "EMS" (emissivity) setting to change for different material surfaces. It remembers what you set things at (some cheap ones require you to switch to Fahrenheit every time). And most importantly seems to be accurate more often than not according to reviews. In my tests, oil in my wok started smoking at roughly the expected temperature. The readings in my fridge and freezer matched the thermometers in them. And finally I set the EMS setting for "water" according to the provided chart and started boiling some. At a rolling boil I was reading steadily between 208f~213f for quite a few minutes until I got bored of pointing a laser at a pot of water (water boils at ~212f depending on your elevation and stays that while boiling. Some science mumbo jumbo about water phases and vapor or something). That's accurate enough for me! Only tested Fahrenheit since that's all I'll be using.Still don't know if I really need it. Or how long it will last. But for under ten bucks, I'll gladly enjoy another toy.

I have this one for the temperature of the contents of my Vitamix as it runs, until it reaches a comfortable temperature for my wife. It is impossible to assess the temperature of the Vitamix without opening the top, since the plastic container of the vitamix does not reflect the temperature of its contents. This unit is instantaneous in its readings and very accurate from scan to scan, which only takes a moment to capture. I like this unit slightly better than the Eventek Infrared Thermometer which comes with a separate temperature probe, which is good for the coffee preparation. Both units are excellent and very price competitive.

Does what it's supposed to and seems consistent in its measurements.
