This worked great as a motor for a theater prop (Mary Poppins’ magically making a broken table come back together). We just needed a small motor to pull in about a foot of cable, and controlled off stage. This worked perfectly, and was small enough and quiet enough so the audience didn’t notice it.One note I would make is that the winch does not have any kind of cable guide when retracting the cable like a real winch would. This was not a problem for our application, but it could be a problem for other applications if a longer stretch of cable needs to be retracted. Just something to keep an eye on. Overall this thing was great and I recommend it.

I haven't tested too much out in the trails because it's snowy at the moment so they are all covered. One thing I did find is mine doesn't work in the cold. It's 15°F today everything else on the truck works good in the cold but this winch won't work until I bring it in to warm up

Excellent product, at an excellent price! It has no problem winching my 9.5lb crawler up near vertical grade. It won't hold this much weight in the neutral position, but at the price point, for a complete setup, it has exceeded my expectations!Mounting with the included screw sets will require a lot of work! I'd decided to try using E6000 adhesive, rather than screws, and so far, it's holding solid!

Great product, works pretty good. First concern is that once you let off the in or out on the remote, the winch doesn’t stop when you let go of the remote button. It goes for a second or two. The next is the wires from the bock to the battery were put in backwards. Not a huge deal to pull them out of the clip and reattach them. I had to hot glue them in to stay because the little prongs broke. But if you do not know about wiring this could have caused a fire and been bad.

It's a winch and it's gets the job done, has plenty of power for light trucks, might not be a strong one for heavier trucks but with a a little bit of throttle control it will work with heavier trucks, I'm just using it for the tow truck way since I turned my redcat ascent into a tow truck

As others have stated, you need 2 x 2032 button cells to put in the remote. You need to remove the two screws on the back of the remote to insert the batteries.To pair the remote, hold the switch on the receiver until the light is solid red, approximately 5 seconds. Once that light is solid red, press the two buttons on the remote at the same time. I did this when the remote was apart as there is a red led on the remote that is hard to see when it is assembled. As others have stated, the remote battery holder sometimes has issues getting a positive connection on the circuit board.Overall the unit looks really well and works well once it is up and running. I would buy again.
