I've had this for about 3 weeks now and it's a champ. Eviscerates everything we've put in there so far including chicken bones. Super quiet. Since I hate plumbing I had a pro do the install (we didn't have a disposal before) and even he marveled at how quiet it was compared to most others. I ordered the plug kit for it since it was about the same price and added hassle to collect the parts and they work perfectly. The warranty is 9years with in-home service....you know they don't want to come out so they must really stand behind their product. I'll update again in a year.

My family couldn't believe how quiet this disposal is. You can barely hear it when it runs. It makes quick work of everything we throw at it. It's been running like a clock for 6-months. No complaints. I'd buy again.

Works well, very quiet! Very happy with the product. Seller was wonderful to work with too- able to confirm that I was receiving the correct version of the disposal and not the newest model (which has been having some issues)

Unit received in mail on 5/22/23, installed on 5/22/23.It was shipped in the original packaging box and not packed in additional box (box in a box) so that was a little concerning. However there was no damage, and there was additional packing inside the original box. The item arrived about 4 days earlier than predicted so that was nice. I would have liked a larger, more quiet model but I chose this model because of space limitations from the existing plumbing: this was replacing an existing Insinkerator disposal (replacing my 18 year old Insinkerator Pro SS disposal). Btw.. my old disposal still worked but occasionally it would need to be turned manually with the Allen wrench to get it to work.I didn't use the new sink mount. I just took the old disposal unit off and screwed on the new disposal unit. I had to cut the black discharge tube (supplied with the new unit) a little shorter. The installation instructions were easy to understand. Remember to punch out the seal on the disposal unit's dishwasher inlet port BEFORE mounting the unit.Wiring the unit is very straightforward as the old unit is wired directly into the wall (no plugs). The new unit is much more quiet than the original unit. I do like the vibration dampening collar on the new unit. It also came with a new stainless steel sink cover as well as a new black rubber disposal cover.Connections that I had to make: 3 wires (ground, hot, neutral) one flex hose coming from the dishwasher, and connecting the black 90 degree discharge tube from the disposal unit to the T-connector.My biggest problems related to the age of the pipes. I had to buy a new T-connector (the t-shaped connector that (a) takes discharge from the disposal unit and (b) takes water from the other sink, then (c) channels all of this effluent into the J-shaped p-trap pipe. From the p-trap, waste water drains into a pipe in the wall. This p-trap pipe also needed to be replaced because it began to leak ( recall the j-shape part holds water 24/7.)In my particular situation, the T-connector comes with a brass chrome-plated sleeve that fits into the top of the p-trap on one end and the bottom of the T-connector on the other end. The sleeve is long and I had to trim it with a hacksaw to the proper length. The sleeve has very thin walls, screws into the T-connector, and is the part that corroded, requiring replacement. This T-connector is designed to prevent the disposal unit from discharging stuff into your second sink: it's not a plain T-connector. Look inside this connector and you will see an internal shield that prevents food from entering a pipe coming from the sink (if you have another sink. )All nuts that secured all of these 1 1/2" pipes were brand new (the old ones were rusted). Similarly, all seals/gaskets were new. The key rubber compression fittings were between the T-connector and the p-trap as well as between the T-connector and the pipe coming from the other sink. These compression fittings are tapered on one end. I tried using some non-tapered fittings but I couldn't get a good enough seal. The tapered fittings came with the P-trap pipe kit that I bought from a local plumbing supply shop. The kit from that shop was totally worth the $25 price. I did not bother with going to the big box stores for parts: I wasn't sure of the quality of the parts or advice.BTW I did not use plastic pipes because I was afraid that they would break sooner. If this unit lasts another 18 years I'll be really happy. As an aside I try not to throw a lot of stuff down into it and try to compost as much plant material as possible. If something happens I'll amend this review.

The Insinkerator 850 is an excellent stainless steel garbage disposal at a reasonable price. We prefer to leave all things plumbing to the professionals. Truth be told, the installation cost as much as the actual garbage disposal. And it was still worth the price. If you are comfortable with doing small plumbing jobs, it wouldn’t be too difficult.

Llegó perfecto.Muy facil de instalar, lo único malo es que no trae un switch de encendido y apagado.Por otra parte, tiene buena potencia y es mas silencioso que la versión anterior.

I purchased this in 2015 and is been running flawlessly ever since. Quiet and powerful it "chews" everything you throw at it. Big reduction in the amount of organic kitchen waste that I have to dispose off in the garbage bin hence no more smelly garbage bins. If you dispose off orange or lemon peels, save them for the last grind of the day to give it a nice fresh citrus scent.

I ordered this to replace a Badger 5 on which the cutter plate had corroded through. I also considered a Waste King but decided to stay with Insinkerator as the installation was much easier. I was able to use the existing Badger 5 attachment to the sink as well as the existing electrical and plumbing connections. The Waste King comes with a cord which would have required installation of a receptacle whereas the Insinkerator Pro 750 is directly wired into the unit like the Badger 5 was. Decided to upgrade to a better model as the Badger 5's only last a few years and are much louder. This new unit seems to grind well and is very quiet. So far so good. We'll see how long it lasts.
