Insta-back lets you "back block" wallboard, eliminate time-consuming measuring and cutting to reduce scrap . Fastners attach to the existing board to provide a solid back-up surface for reattaching the replacement piece. The result is faster framing and faster, easier drywall installation.

Saves a bunch of time repairing Sheetrock holes. Larger quantities are not readily available at big box stores. Good price.

No instructions provided, needs some improvement for DIYers. I had first used an impact driver assuming these were intended for use with both drywall and studs. Turns out an impact driver just bounces and destroys the drywall, especially on a ceiling application due to the the difference in how a drill with a screw adapter vs driver works. Got it working with a plain old screwdriver. Moved to the drill and it worked fine. I assume you have to predrill into studs since the impact driver won't work.

Really ingenious product. I used to glue a little piece of wood behind the sheetrock, and then reinforce it with screws. This product makes fixing big holes in the drywall faster.

I had a large rectangular hole in the wall behind my bathtub. I was not aware of the Prest-On Insta-back 1/2 Inch Drywall Fastener until I saw them on Amazon. I watched the short video showing how to use them. Because of the limited room between the tub and the wall, their use saved me considerable time. The went in easily. The retainer hooks snapped off perfectly. With the addition of patching tape and a few coatings of mud, I was able to accomplish a sturdy repair. For the money, I have enough fasteners for several more repairs. Oh, and they came with just the right size drywall screws.
