The stock evaporator on my car had this tar-like substance around the metal pipes that ran into the evaporator and I couldn't figure out what it was, until I came across this product. It is of the exact same consistency and comes in the nice roll to make it easy to apply the right amount. It's pretty potent stuff as far as stickiness, and exactly what I needed for my car. I have a ton leftover, in I ever need this for anything else.

This product works great. Someone submitted a review saying the clear plastic is hard to get off. That’s because it’s not supposed to come off. That plastic film makes it way easier to install and the sticky side sticks perfectly to the film side.

Much more economical, and the exact same stuff that a certain automotive AC company sells in 2' lengths for a high price. And, free shipping with Amazon Prime. I'm very satisfied with this item.

When ordering this product, what you receive does not match what you see online. What is shown is bare insulating tape, but what you get is tape with a thin plastic cover on one side (not the removable backing paper). Product is adequate to use but misrepresented. I don’t like the tape with the non-removable plastic film on one side.
