Your cart is empty. The Integra CDC-3.4 is a high performance CD player in the form of a 6-disc carousel changer, housed in an all steel and aluminum anti-resonant chassis for higher fidelity performance capability. Its soft blue light on the face is continually attractive day or night and serves to illuminate the carousel tray in the dark to make disc exchange simple from the CD wells which are also numbered for your convenience. 5 discs can be swapped out while the 6th disc continues to play. Direct access to disc or disc track, as well as random track playback are available

There is not to many companies building CD changers anymore but this Integra CDC 3.4 is a very well made performer. FYI: Integra is the performance division of Onkyo, dedicated toward higher sound quality to make the Audiophiles less grumpy. As other reviewers have stated the Integra CDC 3.4 is the upgraded model from Onkyo’s impressive 6 CD Changer, the DXC-390.I have this hooked up to a Yamaha RX-A1080 and Definitive Technology’s BP speaker line up (5.2.2 setup). I could not be more happy with the audio quality, and very smooth/consistent operation. It’s a big unit so be prepared to need at least 17†in depth to fit this inside any cabinet, on a shelf, etc. The remote is simple and identical to the Onkyo remote with the only difference in colors.Regarding comparisons: The Integra CDC 3.4 sounds slightly (but still noticeable) better than the Onkyo DXC-390 which is still an excellent CD Changer option. In comparing the 3.4 to the current Yamaha 5 CD Changer (CD-C600) is at least equal if not slightly better in sound quality...and for $30.00 less than the current Yamaha price you get to change 6 CD’s instead of 5 without sacrificing high audio performance, as long as you have mid-range to high range equipment. For example if you own entry-level to a step up from entry level speakers (examples : Polk Audio T-line , Pioneer Andrew Jones or the ELAC Andrew Jones line, or Klipsch regular reference line) along with basic to mid-range entry level receivers (example: Yamaha V-line, Onkyo RX line, Sony STRD 1080, etc) then the Onkyo DXC-390 is likely the better choice as opposed to the Integra CDC 3.4If you’re in possession of the Klipsch Reference (RP series, Definitive Technology BP Series, Polk Audio Reference or Monitor Series, MartinLogan, anything Bose, Pioneer Elite or Bowers & Wilkins, etc. speakers, then the Integra CDC 3.4 is a better choice as long as you have a better AV Receiver to work with it such as the Yamaha Aventage line, Onkyo’s RZ line (or Integra’s AV lineup) Pioneer Elite, Marantz, or most of Denon’s “In Command†Series)I do not know how this unit performs head-to-head with the more expensive single CD players made by Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, etc...reviewers claim they’re the best by far, but how much of that is really true and if the difference is THAT huge is a discussion for another day. What I can say is this unit works and sounds excellent with what I have.Friendly Reminder: There is always customers complaining about something breaking after a year or perhaps sooner...With any and all electronics, ALWAYS buy that additonal service protection as an insurance for your purchase, in case things go wrong, especially when investing in mid-range to higher-end components. It’s smart, and provides reasonable piece of mind. Anything produced in mass quantity can break regardless of the price tag.If you have the correct components and speakers, the Integra CDC 3.4 will provide outstanding audio performance.

This unit does not play music without other, unnamed components attached.

Loving the Integra carousel. We have a lot of EPs at our house and so we really wanted a carousel so we didn't need to change the disk every 10 - 15 minutes in those instances we were playing EPs instead of full-length albums. We connected ours via optical cable to our Aiyama T9 amplifier (available on Amazon as well) and used banana plugs to connect that to our speakers and the sound quality is great. Please note I received my Integra carousel in used condition, thus the light scuffing on the surface in the image. If you purchase a new model, it would be in better physical shape. It works perfectly though! And the remote is great, easy to scan track, change disc, pause, etc.

Believe it or not, I was still using my 1982 Sony CDP-C50 CD Changer. It always had a warm tone to music. I think it was the DACs used at the time and no optical out, just RCA jacks. I bought this and compared the two together, switching back and forth, and damned, I was impressed. A little tech info: When using RCA jacks, the Analog signal goes to the amp, gets converted to Digital, then back out to speakers as Analog. Using the optical connection, the signal goes out as Digital, gets converted by the amp and goes out to speakers as Analog, thus saving a step and possibly some sound degradation. The sampling rate is much higher on this than could be possible at the time my old Sony was manufactured. The sound is crisp and clear, I am going through my CD collection now and it seems the music is being reintroduced to me. The music is totally immersive, the sounds seem all new to me!Of course, a good system brings out the best in this changer, as I recently updated my system. I also like the feature of changing disks while there is one still playing. This is going though a Denon AVR-X4300H (Preamp connection) to NAD 275BEE Amp to GoldenEar Triton One speakers.

Solid heavy build, nice look, good sound.A few issues:- Extremely sensitive to vibration, starts skipping - a turntable sitting in the same cabinet does not skip when someone (lightly) steps near by, but this changer does.- Button labels are REALLY hard to see, so you will just have to memorize them. Also, do not attempt to move the changer with disks in it - slight tilt - and disks either fall out or fall inside, and then you actually need to turn the changer upside down and shake the disks out of it ;-)
