This was bought as a birthday gift for someone who loves everything monkey and loves banana hangers..so perfect fit between gift and giftee. It arrived early and was easy to put together. I tried a large bunch of bananas on it to test it out and no danger of it tipping over..very heavy iron and solid as a rock. The monkey sitting on the banana leaf is so cute and rendered nicely and the overall effect is antique. My aunt absolutely raved over this monkey banana holder! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality item because it's well worth the money.

I have purchased a lot of banana holders over the years. This is the first banana holder that actually works well and is built well. The other would tip over or break (plastic and wooden ones). It also looks surprises good, better than the pictures. Clearly a lot of thought went into creating this banana holder. It is worth the extra cost to get one that will last, works really well and looks good (like real art).

Ok I tried to weigh this thing down to figure out and determine if I could topple one of these before giving it to my mother as her request was for a sturdy banana holder since she had already gone through two in about two years due to the weight of the bananas. Her honey likes to pick the biggest bananas of the bunch. Well know for certain and weighed out 3lbs hanging it over the counter as my stuff was too big to fit under the monkey and it would not topple (it held strong) I added on more but didn't weigh that out, and nope. At that point, I ran out of room on the monkey tail. Needless to say, this little guy won me over and made my mother very happy with my new find for her.Now, this little guy was down right adorable when I got him out of the box. FYI he is heavy and if you have 2 lol. And yes some assembly is required (two screws and juggling). Knowing how to properly place your monkey on the leaf is also helpful as time will go much faster. lol My total time for the two took about 5 minutes.FYI if you live in a hot climate bring your monkey in and let it cool before you ever touch it he will burn you otherwise.

I purchased this holder a while back, but just getting around to the review, which I'm honestly giving 5 stars. Shipment arrived quickly and was well packaged. Easy assembly. Finish of product was exactly what was pictured and expected (it has that rustic/raw feel that is so endearing, especially of cast iron). Super heavy base makes a well balanced piece that keeps even the biggest bunches of bananas from tipping over. Adds some adorable, yet subtle, whimsy to my kitchen. I love this little monkey and would recommend this product above most others I've tried. Even my boyfriend who is not into the "kitchy cute stuff" agreed this product is highly functional and was worth the money. This one's a keeper....

Our previous banana holder was worn out and never did hold a bunch of bananas without fear of tipping over. I searched banana holders on Amazon.com and even though this was a little more expensive, I couldn't get it out of my mind. It's so unique and fun. I finally decided to buy it with the idea that if it wasn't worth what I paid for it, in my opinion, I would return it. There is no way I would return it! Others wrote that it makes you smile every time you look at it. They were exactly right. It's sturdy and doesn't look cheap. I also agree with another consumer that said the photo doesn't do it justice. It came on time, packed well and only took me a minute to put it together. It took me longer to find a screw driver! I highly recommend this banana holder to anyone who is looking for one of high quality and an interesting addition to your counter top. I know my family and friends will find it amusing when they visit.

So, I was planning on buying a cheap banana holder, but this was too cute to pass up. It's built well, was easy to put together (The monkey just screws into the leaf base), and it does is job. It's been about a year, and it loosened up a tiny but, but nothing a quarter twist of a screw driver couldn't fix. Overall, great product.

I'd been looking for an attractive, sturdy and affordable banana holder for several months, and this one is perfect. The monkey is adorable and the holder can hold a large bunch of bananas without wobbling. It comes unassembled, so you'll need a couple tools (flathead screwdriver and pliers) and some basic skills to assemble it (no instructions provided). The holder is made of cast iron, so it's heavy and durable, but it probably could scuff a Formica or Corian countertop if moved around a lot. This is the nicest banana hanger I've seen anywhere, and it's definitely worth the price.

This little monkey on a leaf banana holder is aesthetically pleasing and HEAVY. It's not moving anywhere once you put it together. So much nicer than the stainless steel ones that look like they're from the 5 & 10 cent store. I recommend putting some felt feet underneath to prevent scratching the surfaces of your countertop. I'd give this as a gift in a minute. Luv this classy little thing.
