Most durable laces that can still be tied well enough that I have ever seen!Lasted over two years of heavy sparks and even occasional molten metal from use as a steel pipe fitter/fabricator. Normal cheap laces last a month or two, "durable" laces and the original laces that come with the name brand timberland boots last 3-5 months, these lasted over two years and more than paid in the difference in cost. Still they failed in the same way, dry rot and failure in the underside which never got cleaned but zero damage from sparks so they far outlasted everything. To give an idea of the abuse, my $190 timberland boots only last 12-16 months and my full leather apron to block the sparks at my stomach only lasts a year so these things can clearly take abuse. Worth the money for me most definitely. The main con is the cost, really unless your dealing with sparks or mud these arent worth your money in my opinion, but some people really need laces that can handle sparks and weld slpatter and these work for that surprizingly well. The only real con beyond the cost is the stiffness, they are more difficult to tie but I learned an effective way to tie it with little risk of untieing and easy untieing later. Single underloop to start basically the way most teach to tie shoes, then single bunny ear and pull the otherside all the way through (dont make two ears at the same time, just one), then bunny ear the other side as a double tie and get it very tight. The first bunny ear tightens to the shoe and the second ear tightens to the first ear. This way never has come untied unless the string was left too long and got stepped on, actually these get tighter than conventional laces only doing this way specifically but releasing isnt an issue since pulling the correct string will pull out one loop then pull the other and its untied. The laces do require a very tight tie to not come untied, but doing the separate single bunny ears as described allows for a very tight tie without the shoe itself being too tight. Dunno why but tieing the bunny ears together for a double tie does not stay tied since they are too stiff, and only doing the bunny ears for a single tie as normally taught for tennis shoes doesnt stay either. And this style isnt as effective with normal laces as with these laces either, im on my feet for 10-12 hours a day in these climbing over stuff and climbing inside of pipe and never came untied unless the release string was pulled. Yet my thin laces on my tennis shoes never stayed tied with this tieing style. If you need laces that can handle sparks and can figure out a tie for them since they are thicker these are very highly recommended!

I like these laces a lot! They have a traditional leather lace look about them but they are tech durable. They stay tied without double bowing or other double wrap methods. A single bow is all that’s need for all day. The textured surface doesn’t slip at the knot or through the eyes. My guess is that these laces are for the life of the boot.

I really like the feel of these laces. Super thin but very sturdy. They tie very well and hold all day. Should hold up really well over time. The only thing I don’t like is the fact my hands end up looking like Justin Hammers hands in Iron Man 2 every time I lace my boots.

Nice laces easy to tie and don’t tangle often. After a couple months without much wear, they began to lighten. Didn’t appear to affect the durability.

My cat is OBSESSED with strings. They are the only thing she wants to play with, and she wants to play constantly. But she plays rough. She gnaws them to bits with ease (and has almost certainly eaten some when we’re not looking). We bought her this “unbreakable” shoe lace to tie to a stick for her chasing pleasure. These laces are described as if they are the strongest material known to man, and we were so sure that she would destroy them within days but figured it was worth a shot. That little kitty has put these strings through the wringer and there is not a mark on them! They still look brand new after many weeks of rigorous play! They are stiff enough to not untie easily, which is great for keeping it on the stick. And she doesn’t get her claws stuck on them either. She can bite all she wants and never get through. Safe to say she loves them! If your cat also loves string, I would definitely recommend these strings :)

I purchased 3 other "Super Strong" bootlaces here on Amazon, all of them broke within the first few wears. Finally settled on this one and it is holding up great! It is not as formal looking which is why I avoided it at first but the convenience and grip it provides makes it worth it. They do NOT get untied!

I purchased these laces just looking for something a little more durable then the laces that came with my boots.I work in a manufacturing machine shop and my boots take a beating. After a 8 months to a year my laces are pretty frayed and worn.I gave Iron Lace a shot thinking it would be a little more tough then my original laces.I was wrong, They are way stronger then stock laces. You can't go wrong picking these up if you work construction, manufacturing, landscaping or any other profession where your feet take a beating. If I had to pick a con for these laces, I would say, new right out of the box, they are stiff and abrasive on your hands. They have very harsh threading but this softens over some time. Also another con would be that the color fades in places where you have a lot of friction but the laces remain extremely tough. Those two cons are so minor I can't justify dropping this review to 4 stars. These are 100% 5 star laces.

Would give a higher rating if the dye didn't rub off.Feel strong and tough. Look good. The laces are rather stiff to tighten up and tie. Maybe they get easier to tie after a bit of use? Dye on the laces rubs off on fingers when tying the laces. I'm told this will stop eventually, and it can be lessened by running the laces through a clean cloth 10 or 12 times. Best to do this before starting to use the laces or putting them in your boots I would say.

I have bought multiple pairs for all my footwear. No complaints. If you're tired of laces wearing out well before the shoe/ boot does- get yourself a pair pf these.

As a welder these are the best laces on the market you’ll never have to buy another pair of laces for life.

I bought these laces to replace the new laces on a new pair of boots used by our Volunteer Fire Department. I've been using Ironlaces for years, previously, and never, ever had to replace any of them. Buy them once and they will most likely outlast your boots.
