So far this toolbox has been a wonderful compromise between lightweight plastic and heavier metal. It has one removable tray with a decent amount of storage down below. My DH had to replace his lightweight plastic one as he was working in the CA sun in 80 degree weather and didn't notice the sun was hitting directly on the hinges. When he went to put his tools away and close it up, the plastic had melted and the hinges were ruined! He had looked all over for a better toolbox and he found many that were completely metal, but they are so heavy by the time you put any tools in them, he opted instead for this lightweight metal box with the metal with some plastic in the hinges. So far it has worked out well, and his learned to put the hinges out of the directet force of the sun.

I bought to store and carry our two e-bike batteries and accessories. I was impressed by the 40lb load rating. Seems to be holding up well with the heavy tools & batteries.

The stainless is pretty thin.Top & bottom are made of thin plastic. In the description of this box I got the impression it would hold 40 pounds of tools. Planned on mounting to the top of a farm tractor’s fender. Not sure it’s going to work for that, but I’ll find some way to use it.
