Got this to add more threads to a mower mule drive that I got off ebay to run on my vintage '75 John Deere 300. Apparently it's too long for it so I added threads and cut off about 1.5" of extra stem and presto, we're mowing grass. Can't believe how well this thing cut threads for under $10. No special tools needed. Just oil and go back and forth lots to work in the new threads. Perfect for small jobs but after about 5" of cutting new thread I feel like it could have kept going for a while.
