This IRWIN SPEEDBOR MAX 2-inch Self-Feed Wood Drill Bit features 3 durable cutting edges that are resharpenable to extend the life of the drill bit. The aggressive screw pitch pulls the bit fast for clean, true holes, while the 7/16-inch quick-change impact shank helps reduce slipping in standard chucks. This powerful drill bit is compatible with most 7/16-inch impact drills.

works good as is in soft wood, but if you are drilling in hard wood, take the threaded self feed piece out and put in a 5/16" stubby drill bit so you can control how fast it cuts. it stopped most of my 1/2" drills.

This is way better than a hole saw. I just cut 300 2 inch holes in about an hour. This thing is worth every penny

I bought this to be used as an essential part of my tool kit while making a timber frame cabin. I needed something to hog out most of the material for my mortises without spending a fortune on the chain-saw mortisers. In combination with a 1/2" 550lb torque, low-rpm drill made by Bosch, this bit has exceeded my expectations. I use it primarily with oak and poplar timbers. Some of the timbers are fairly green, and some have sat for a while and are a bit dry. Regardless as to the condition of the wood, this thing works wonders. The only complaint I have is when I happen to find a knot in the center of the timber. It'll jamp your wrist pretty hard, so be prepared for that.I'm almost done with my 16' x 20' timber frame that has required about 150 mortises, all of which require about 2-3 holes per mortise. And the bit is still super sharp and cuts like a dream. You won't be disappointed with this thing.

I had work done and it displaced the pest control things they stick in the ground so I bought this and an extension to relocate them. Works like a charm. Even pulled a few up they said they couldn’t get any deeper and drilled those and now they sit flush. Not it’s intended purpose but I don’t need it for anything else so 5 stars from me.

VERY IMPRESSIVE! I had to drill through 2 dozen 60-year-old solid joists, and this went through them like butter.

Super aggresive bit. Too much plundge speed for my cordless drill. I beat the threads down some but still this bit is a drill killer. You need a hole hawg or super drill, then you need to watch your wrists and arms. I think it has the potential but don't use with reg. Drills, only the 2 handed beast can turn this around.

I bought this to try to grind out some stumps on paths we built on our mountain property. Use on low speed for torque, my first lesson learned, and it will grind them down and out of your way in no time. Recommend highly.

Very sharp and fast. It is not as bulky as some other designs, but has good power. You need a real 1/2 inch, low speed, 2-handed drill for this, which generally means an expensive tool with a cord. Most DIYers would not own such a thing, just FYI. This size works ok for 1 1/2" drain pipe if you are needing a nearly perfect hole. Most people use a 2 1/8 inch bit for that to have some extra room. They also sell a 2 1/4" bit that is nicely oversized for that size pipe.If you were a perfectionist, use this 2 inch bit for verticals and the larger ones for horizontal drains.

Excellent results from this bit drilling 6x6 beams. Bit really bites in and provides a nice clean cut. Stalls out my 18v millwaukee hammer drill so best used on a corded drill. Comes with 2 self feed tips.

Chews through wood, when working properly it almost pulls forward through the wood. Unfortunately the structure I had to drill 30 odd holes through has nails and a few screws in it. Tends to really dull a bit. Still works but requires much assistance.
