I have always used IRWIN tools, so when I needed a new set of cutting pliers, I had to get the same brand again. They always work great and stay sharp to easily cut. We use them for so many things around the house too. I use them in the garage and my wife uses them with her crafts. The handles are comfortable and easy on your hands.

Sharp. No wobble, Nice rivet. Comfortable grips. The only issue is that the blades do not go back to the rivet so there is a gap. Looking at the photo in the ad, you can even see the air gap near the rivet. This means when you put your wire all the way "in" to get maximum leverage, say like you might need on this size cutter for #10 or #8 stranded, they don't cut through and you have to adjust a bit to get that last wire or piece of insulation. Not fatal but, so easy to correct and kind of annoying. Other than that, these are a great value. I carry them in my emergency car kit because living in California, where we have decriminalized theft up to $950, it seems to be lost or stolen often. My home set are Kleins for the 8" and Milwaukee for the 6". Both are about 2x the price of these but cut all the way to the rivet and are tougher steel. These are made in China, Klein in USA and Milwaukee in Vietnam. FYI. The craftsmanship on all three is about the same it is just the others are a better design (no gap) and use a tougher steel and edge material/finish.

Irwin makes great tools. The cutting edges are nicely ground and they meet perfectly. The grip is natural and nice. Buy them...or it...IDK.

I'm a security technician, so I deal with a lot of quad and cat5. These cutters are perfect for these smaller applications. Nice cushioned grips for when you are cutting/stripping wire all day, and small stature at only 6" total length. Bonus crimping action for b-connectors.I've read some negative reviews about the cutters not being strong enough, but again, these are only 6" in total length, and obviously not designed to cut higher gauge wire on a regular basis like 14/2.If your application does not involve heavy gauge wire, these side cutters are wonderful. So good I bought a second pair (lost the first pair in a river...)
