Love this trash can. I researched quite a bit before making this purchase. Have been very happy with the purchase.You can use any bags. Just have to adjust so it won't show. Got the 20 gallon and it holds a lot. Quality build.

My Mom's had an itouchless trash can for years, but I didn't want to splurge on the expensive metal one so I opted for this plastic one. I've had it for a year now, and I really have very few complaints. It fits a standard trash bag, and I've never had issues with the bag sliding off. The batteries seem to last a long time and the sensor hasn't given me any trouble. The only thing I wished it had is the charcoal odor eliminator packet holder--I really like that about my Mom's. For the price though, this is an awesome trash can.

UPDATE: Dropping to one star rating. Our first can arrived dented and we got it replaced. The replacement worked great...at first. But 5 days after the return window expired the soft-close lid feature stopped working reliably. So, now, about half of our lid closures are a loud WHACK instead of a gentle soft close. Avoid this product, were 0 for 2.ORIGINAL REVIEW:We are an active, eat-at-home household and need a big kitchen trash can, but not *too* big. We have a few hard requirements:- must be at least 20 gallons- must have a lid- must be able to be foot activated- preferable that the lid also have a manual handle (this one doesn't but solution shared below)- prefer a rectangular footprint (NOT round)- easy to pull out the bag without catching, snagging, squeezing- able to easily prop the lid open manually without it closing- the bag must 100% surround the opening with no gaps or edges or ridges or other issues that create spaces or gaps or holes for garbage to fall into (surprisingly, many trash cans fail this requirement by having weird linkages or hinges or bars or other things that create openings for trash to fall IN the can but OUTSIDE the bag)This trash can meets all of these requirements with the exception of a hand handle to open the top, which we have long ago solved for our trash cans. We use Command Picture Hanging Knobs stuck to the top to open the lid: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C60C45AThe Command knob is currently not available on Amazon, but our local big-box office supply store has them in stock, you can see the knob on the lid in the attached photo.We have found that there are a several varieties of 21 gallon trash bags that perfectly fit this can, or in a pinch we simply use 30 gallon bags which then show a little ruffle of bag around the top edge.This trash can is very tall, which we like, although pulling the bag up and out might be challenging for not-tall people (we're a tall family). However, the bag does remove easily and there is nothing to catch/snag/squeeze it on the way up and out.If there is one minor complaint we have it's that when we use the foot bar to open the lid it forces the trash can to slide away from us on the tile floor, meaning the feet of the can aren't grippy enough to keep it from sliding. We like to keep this can about 3-4 inches out from the cabinet so that the lid can fully open without hitting the counter overhang. This can fairly easily be resolved by placing something behind the can as a spacer, and/or adding some grippy rubber feet to the bottom, but we would have preferred for the can to come configured to not be so slide-y. This may not be an issue for others and may be particular to our use case.Note that the first can we ordered arrived with a HUGE dent in one side, and we were able to get a replacement from Amazon. This was a pain in the butt, but not a deal breaker. There is no padding or styrofoam around the midsection of the can in the box, so any sufficient impact or compaction of the box can lead to a shipping dent. However, in day to day use the can is very sturdy and not prone to denting, it just needs slightly more robust packaging.Overall we love this can. It seems weird to have spent so much time and detail on a trash can, but this thing is an integral part of our day, all day, every day. Our home life centers around our kitchen - I'm retired and we cook most of our meals at home. My wife works from home about half the time, and our teen is also an active part daily life. This can is big enough to handle the workload and convenient enough to be a benefit instead of a barrier to getting things done.Highly recommended.

It's a trashcan. I needed one that worked for our needs. The first one sent was defective, the lid wouldn't open. After receiving the replacement, no issues so far. I'm not really thrilled about having an auto open can but it is what it is. It is a bit smaller than the plastic one we are replacing that didn't fit the 13 gallon bags easily. It takes up less space and I have to take out the bag more often, I'll keep using it because it fits the space better.

The trash can is sleek and functional. The stainless steel design resists dents, and the odor filter works well. However, the step pedal feels flimsy and doesn’t always open smoothly. It’s spacious and great for recycling, but durability concerns might disappoint for the price. Decent overall.

Did some homework before buying. There were several to choose from Itouch, read reviews and noticed that 1 showed the plug included, but when re-reading the description, the plug was not included. Decided to buy them separately. It turned out to be $35.12 cheaper after taxes. It did come with the AbsorbX filter. The filter compartment is a little stiff still. Had to open to remove plastic from filter. I chose to forgo the batteries and plug it in. The cord is longer than most reviews led me to believe. This can will hold a lot of trash, but is compact enough for smaller spaces. My regular bags fit great and don't show at all. I have it tucked back and it doesn't open when passing by. Quiet, nice size opening. I like the latch on top to lock it, keeps the little kiddies out, not worried about my dog, she's been taught to stay outta the garbage. Lol Opens easily and fast. Closes properly, doesn't slam. Added benefits, no need to wash my hands constantly and will save on hand cream. Time will tell if it lasts, but so far it's great.

I never thought I would say that I love a garbage can but I love this one. It’s the perfect size for two people if you only want to take out your garbage every 5 or so days and absolutely no odors. How great is that. The sensor is great, works as it should. I highly recommend it.
