This is a CMOS 8-bit successive approximation A/D converter that uses a differential potentiometric ladder-similar to the 256R products. This converter is designed to allow operation with the NSC800 and INS8080A derivative control bus with TRI-STATE output latches directly driving the data bus. This A/D appears like memorylocations or I/O ports to the microprocessor and no interfacing logic is needed.

My goto JFET, the venerable Motorola MPF102 is obsolete. The Fairchild J112 and J113 are good substitutions and still in production. I used one recently as a common-drain voltage follower input for a low-wattage guitar amp I'm building. The bent leads on these are perfectly spaced for breadboarding and hand soldering. Nice product. Five stars. Definitely recommend for DIY amp builders.

The billions of MOSFETS in the processors of our smart phones are only about 22 nm…too small for a hobbyist to study firsthand. Their operation, however is basically the same as this JFET that is a discrete scale.

All BAD. they read 37 ohms drain to source

Tested as legitimate JEFT transistors. The JFETS have blue, red and yellow stripes. They come on two 10 transistor card strips which tells me they are not from random batches.

Easy to find, used it to replace the expensive and hard to find j201

I ordered two units of these and did not receive Fairchild branded products. One package was National Semi in a formed leg strip of 20. The other 20 was a pair of bags with 10 house marked versions with no brand on the part. The price is fair for this part but you will likely get something different with every order.

The product description is obviously for a different part - the description quoted below is for a A/D converter IC, not a JFET transistor"Product descriptionThis is a CMOS 8-bit successive approximation A/D converter that uses a differential potentiometric ladder-similar to the 256R products.
