I have a specific need for a certain thickness wire and it was hard finding the right thickness. 9 AWG wire was slightly too small, 8 AWG slightly too thick. I took out my micrometer and measured the thickness in several spots. This wire actually is 1/8 inches thick (0.125 inch) plus or minus .01 inches. Adding this info for anyone that is looking for this specific thickness wire. For anyone looking to do the same, this wire fits perfectly into the plastic clips for the old SpaceWarp toy (aka SpaceRail in the new incarnation).

Was looking all over the place for bare aluminum wire, specifically this size. While attempting to rebuild a 50-year old broadcast (OTA) TV antenna I melted the aluminum feedline and for the past year couldn't find a suitable replacement (aluminum is no longer very popular in electrician circles due to overheating and causing fires, but this wire is perfect for low voltage antenna work). Also going to use it on ham radio VHF / UHF projects.

I'm sure this is lovely stuff for someone with strong hands...unfortunately I discovered even using pliers it's too much for me.

but I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it. I bought 11 gauge (1/8") and thought it would make a decent rigid hoop. I was wrong, but it was all my fault.

Received the product quickly, which is always a plus. However, I am not sure if the roll I received contains a full 130' of wire since it appears that it was unwound and then crudely wound back on the spool. I do not see any kinks or gouges on the outside so only time will tell if it holds up during use.
